Neither the hotel or the clinic were flooded, but the ground in between was underwater, and Christian was forced to take a raft to get to the clinic that morning. Now he was really wishing he had the Boatox. Also, salt water was hell on his expensive designer shoes.

"You think I've got curves?" Umm..

"Kind of hard to miss them," Christian said.

"My finger," she said dumbly, shoving her hand towards him.

Christian cupped her hand in his, looking at her finger tip. "It looks like it's healed up just fine," he said. "You won't even have a scar."

"No, I didn't think so," she replied, staring at him. "Are you married?"

He held up his left hand and wiggled his fingers. "See a ring?" he said.

"No." Annette smiled a little nervously and added quickly, "Was just wondering."

"No strings on me," Christian said with a grin.

"No strings on me either," Annette replied audaciously.

"Just how old are you, anyway?" Christian said, looking Annette over.

That was a sucky question. When guys asked that it was never good. Least from what she heard and saw from TV and stuff.

So he was a doctor and she was just a teenager in high school? It was Fandom. For all she knew she was dreaming this. Yeah. That was probably it and it worked very well in her frame of mind.

"I'm told I look young for my age."

Not that Christian cared overly much -- he'd slept with 16-year-old twins, after all. "Fair enough," he said. "So how did you make it down here with all this flooding?"

"A raft. Took me an hour, at least. My arms and shoulders are pretty tender. I might need an aspirin or something." She said, staring up at him.

"Or maybe a massage?" Christian suggested. "That'll work the stiffness out."

"Are you offering, Dr. Troy?"

"I happen to have very talented hands," Christian said. He stood up and beckoned Annette to his chair. "Have a seat, I'll show you."

"Thank you." She replied and moved to sit in the chair indicated. "And I don't doubt your talented hands at all, Dr. Troy. I mean, you are a surgeon after all."

Christian moved behind the chair and put his hands on Annette and started to rub her shoulders. "Call me Christian," he said. "Dr. Troy is just too formal."

She was wearing a long sleeved, thin cashmere sweater, and through it his hands felt incredible.

"Christian. It's a nice name."

Christian massaged the back of her neck. "Thanks," he said. "Annette's pretty."

She closed her eyes, "Mmmhmm. Thank you, Christian." It really was a nice name. Sort of like Sebastian...but not.
