FTEC, Tuesday, march 6

After making a check on the patients in the clinic, Christian started flipping through a boating magazine, thinking about finally replacing The Boatox.

She smiled in return. But she was here to see Ami, totally.

"I...cut my finger."

She nodded, watching him. "That's what I was thinking. I would hate to get an infection and lose my finger. 'Cause I really need my finger." She walked forward and held out her right hand, palm up, index finger pointed outward.

If the doctor looked close enough at her finger, he would definitely see the red slash trademark of a paper cut. Annette thought it worth looking at. Sure.

Annette couldn't figure out this little obsession that seemed to be growing concerning this doctor. But dang, looking at him up close was totally different from far away.

"Does it need an antibiotic ointment, you think? Because I don't have any. And that's good news; my fingers are important to me."

She pulled in her bottom lip and bit down while she watched him doctor her cut.

"You have great hands," She said finally, meeting his eyes. "I think it feels better already." And of course she made no attempt to pull her hand back, unsanitary or not.

"Yes, I hadn't thought of that." She looked down at her finger. "A check-up is certainly in order." She smiled slowly and searched his face. "You're very dedicated. When do you work next? I, uh, want to make sure you see my finger because the other doctors might not know what happened and treat it differently than you." That was such great reasoning.

"Friday," Annette repeated. "I'm sure I'll remember." His hand was so warm, she thought she might be melting a little bit here.

"I guess I better go check on my friend now." But she didn't move yet. Gave no indication that she was even prepared to do so.

Oh dear. "You, uh, think so?" She asked softly.

That wink made her stomach flutter. "Um. That is so nice." It was either the wink or that Ami appreciates her visits that was nice. Annette couldn't make up her mind just yet. Her thought process was a little shaky.

"Oh, I don't know. Last time I saw Ami she didn't look so very good." Annette gave a small nod of her head, looking decidedly concerned. Which was sort of hard under the direct gaze of Dr. Christian Troy.

She blinked, "Oh, you were referring to me?" Annette blushed and looked down and sort of stuttered. "Um, uh, okay. Yes, I need to do that. I, uh...have taken up way too much of your time. Thank you, doctor, for the care of my finger." She nodded and met his eyes quickly before she turned and started for Ami's room.

"I'm an idiot!" She whispered under her breath as she kept walking.
