FTEC, Saturday Morning

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency," the Doctor said as he opened his eyes in a chair in the clinic. He looked around, realized this room was a mess, and went about doing all the important things one does in keeping a neat and tidy reception area. After that, he checked on poor Miss Summers, and after seeing no horrendous change in condition (and wondering why the clinic seemed ill-equipped. Where were the medical tricorders or dermal regenerators?), he went back to the waiting area.

And started humming opera songs to himself to pass the time.

His Starfleet uniform was quite fetching today. The Doctor (otherwise known as the Emergency Medical Hologram) was around for your medical needs.

Dawn was there as soon as she finished WTFing over whatever the hell was going on with Sam. She poked her head into the exam room, trying not to look as worried as she felt and whispering so she didn't wake her. "Buffy?"

Over in the corner was a man wearing a striped shirt and hat, holding a magical walking stick, and reading a magazine. He was very nonchalant, so much so that you might not even notice him at first glance. But if you looked very hard, you just might find out where Waldo was.

Dawn had gotten Molly's message and headed over to the clinic. "Um, I'm here to see Buffy Summers?"

"She's resting in Exam Room one," the Doctor said, looking up. "Is there a good reason I should let a child go visit her?"

The Doctor was in an otherwise empty clinic reception area, so he looked over at the man in stripes. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

Dawn hadn't had a fantastic morning, and was wondering if she could just beat the doctor with a stick. "Buffy's my sister."

In a voice that had it come from a larger, bluer body would have sounded like Justice speaking through a megaphone, Waldo said, "No emergency. I'm just exploring! Have a good day!" And with that, he walked out the door.

"Then you should have stated that in the first place," the Doctor said. "Just be gentle if you have to show any sort of familial affection."

"How...how badly is she injured?" She asked quietly. "Is she going to be okay?"

"She'll be fine," the Doctor said. "But I'm not at liberty to discuss her medical condition except with her parents or siblings that are of non-minor age."

He gave a sigh. "Taking into account that her injuries at admission seemed far more severe than the ones when checked upon this morning, I am unable to give you a precise report on her status. Her leg is in bad shape, however," the Doctor said.

Dean headed down to the clinic to check on Buffy, and to see if she was awake and able to talk. Something that could do that to a Slayer was definitely something they needed to hunt down.

He didn't recognise the bald guy behind the desk. "Hi, I'm here to see Buffy Summers?"

"I'm sorry if was unclear earlier," the Doctor said. "You've been free to visit her for several minutes now."

"I'm sure you are," the Doctor said. "Assuming she's awake, a visitor should do her come good. But please do not wake my patient if she is still sleeping."

"Thank you," Dawn said, heading towards the back, then paused. "Er, which room is she in?"

Dean put on his most innocent expression. "No waking up, got it." He paused. "How is she doing, really?"

"I'd say she's recovering quite well," the Doctor said. "But then again, when she's in the best of medical hands, that is to be expected."
