FTEC, Tuesday Night

Natalie set her things down slowly, eyes scanning over Cally's chart. She read the notes made by the admitting physician -- or, in this case, the admitting aide -- and then those added by Dr. Troy. Taking a moment to unpack, she then peeked in on her patient. She spent the remaineder of the shift either in the lab or tending to the patient...and welcoming visitors.

Cally was still sleeping, and Mac was still at her side (barring those short breaks she forced herself to take).

Even if she wasn't conscious, Visitors would still be welcome.

[ooc: Mac modded with permission. Any visits will be during those times Mac is gone, as her player has alas gone to sleep.]

Teddy stopped in after work, carrying coffee for Mac ~~handwavily~~ picked up from the Perk on his way over. Not seeing her, he set the drink down next to the visitor chair, taking a seat himself.

"I'll bring flowers or something next time I visit," He told Cally, knowing that she couldn't hear him but hey, it couldn't hurt to try.

After sitting for a bit he left again, writting a quick note on the coffee to let Mac know he stopped by and that it was for her.

Annette came by again, bringing with her a box of chocolates for Mac. She knew that she was pretty much staying by Cally's side, and wanted to let her know that she was here for her as well. She had written her a little card, telling her to call her if she needed to.

Moving to the bed, she took up Cally's hand, carefully holding it. "I'm taking good care of Poe, Cally. He is doing just fine. I'm talking to him so he doesn't get lonely and making sure he has plenty to eat and fresh water." She moved her thumb over the back of Cally's hand. "Get well soon, Cally. I miss you." She didn't know if Cally could hear her or not, but liked to think she could.

"I will be back tomorrow, Cally. I promise." She left then, making sure the card and candy were by the flowers she had brought in this morning, so Mac would see it.

Of course Bel had to drop by for appearances. And perhaps to admire his handiwork.

"We'll find who did this to you," Bel said fiercely for the benefit of anyone listening. "We'll make them pay."

Parker was holding onto Anders' elbow as they approached. "You want to do this. You do."

"Well, yeah," Anders said, at least grateful that Parker hadn't pulled his arm out of its socket. "But I also kind of feel like I shouldn't . . . oh, holy frak."

Parker looked, and had the same reaction. She swallowed hard. "Damn, oh, Cally..." Her hand tightened on Ander's arm.

"Parker?" asked Anders, his voice low. "Can I help kill this bastard?"

Parker looped her arm through his, and sighed. "I'll hold your coat. And give you an alibi. Okay?"

"A watertight one, I hope." Anders laughed humorlessly. "This is . . . frak, Bel didn't tell me it was this bad."

"He probably didn't want you to freak out." Parker reached over and carefully brushed some of Cally's hair out of her face. "And you know me. I don't do things by halves." Her face hardened. "Who the hell-- why the hell would someone do this to her?"

"Hell if I know." Anders turned and kicked at the doorframe, then slumped against Parker. "Whoever it is doesn't really deserve to live, though."

"Don't say things like that," Parker said mildly. She looked over her shoulder, lips twitching just a tiny bit. "Someone might overhear. Do you want that alibi, or don't you?"

"Not caring so much about the alibi as long as whoever did this gets what's coming to them," Anders muttered through clenched teeth. "And since I don't know who it is and can't hurt them, I could chain-smoke about a pack right now."

Parker cocked her head, watching him watch Cally. "She'd yell at you for that. And you can save the rage for those that deserve it better if you don't." She sighed. "Bel told you about this? At least he has *some* uses."

Anders nodded. "Came by to tell me, yeah. Was nice enough to . . . hang around until I got calmed down, too." He stared at Cally in the hospital bed for several minutes, then gritted his teeth and turned to look at Parker. "I'm really sorry, and Willow will probably kill me for it, but I need to go smoke after this. It's either that or drink, and I don't need a hangover in M's class tomorrow."

"You don't need my permission," Parker said quietly. "But I won't stop you, okay? And I do know exactly how it feels. And how I'd feel if it were any of my exes. With one or two notable exceptions."

Anders reached over and laid a hand on Parker's arm briefly. "Thanks. We should probably go before I lose it."

Biting his lip, he walked over to the side of the bed and reached out, then paused and let his hand drop. "Yeah. We should go."

Parker completed the gesture he started, pulling the sheet up higher on Cally's chest. "Get better soon," she said quietly to Cally. "So Anders doesn't do something dumb before you can tell him who to smack around, please." She turned back to Anders. "And we're outta here."

Anders nodded and turned to go, striding out into the hallway as quickly as he could to wait for Parker.

Pippi poked her head in.

Cally was still completely and utterly unconscious, so with Mac out of the room, there wasn't really any reaction to Pippi sticking her head in.

Pippi tip toes in with a thermos of soup in accordance with the tradition of bringing people food when they're in the clinic.

She sets the thermos down on the bedside table along with a get well card, and gently puts a sock monkey next to Cally on the bed.

Flynn briefly stopped to check on the sleeping girl.

He nodded with some satisfaction that a glorious array of red roses were placed on the table nearby. He kept silent, not wanting to disturb anyone.
He made a mental note to have Clu start investigations on... his side, and pondered if it would be worth putting Aiden on retainer to find out the hooligan responsible.

He hadn't known Cally long, only one class, in fact, but Flynn still felt some measure of responsibility for the young lady. But he would know more when and if she ever woke up.
