Considering the doctor on duty was currently in a coma, Christian took Dr. Wilson's shift and opened up the clinic for the day.

Parker caught the jerk out of the corner of her eye, and very slowly pulled her hand back, not wanting to set off Phale. Wilson didn't seem to notice, sadly. "Like you wouldn't know?" she teased lightly. "Like you can't tell the second his breathing changes, his temperature, the way he's lying there?" She cocked her head at him, watching his face. "Maybe you'll dream your way to where he is? This is Fandom. Stranger things have happened."

Aziraphale looked up at Parker, eyes widening as he thought about what she was suggesting. Even without the bond the ring gave them, he did notice every minute detail.

"I don't dream," he murmured. "But...do you think that's what he's waiting for? That if I go to sleep, he'll wake up?"

Why not? Wilson could be awfully perverse when he wanted to be, and as Parker had said, this was Fandom.

"Would it be so bad, if that's what it took?" Parker watched Wilson for a second, then looked back at Phale. "He will come out of it. I have to believe that. Not that it doesn't suck until he does."

Having spent the past twenty-four hours going back and forth between certainty that Wilson would wake soon, and fear that he never would, it was comforting to Aziraphale any time someone told him that they believed things would be all right.

"I suppose...of all people, I should have Faith, shouldn't I?"

Parker couldn't help but smile mischeviously at him. "You'd think?" She shrugged. "Is there anything I can do? For you, or for Dr. Wilson? Anything that would help?"

Giving a little shrug, Aziraphale replied, "Just...visit with him. Talk to him? So that he wants to come back?"

He wasn't sure what anyone could do as far as he himself was concerned, so he gave Parker another sheepish shrug. "I'll be find once James wakes up. And I'm not here all the time. I go back and forth to the new house, to get everything unpacked. So it's ready for James to come home."

"Sure. That, I can do." Parker leaned against the bedside table, folded her arms, and started to talk. "You missed all the L.A. drama, Dr. Wilson. Logan bought this amulet, and gave it to Cal, and it gave her temporary amnesia...."

Parker went through that whole Greek-inspired mess, on to Disneyland, and Muscle Beach ("really cute guys, and it gave me a fun idea-- remind me to tell you later, if it works out"), through New Year's, with Weiss's name coming up more than once. ("So if he's Bogart, and I'm Bette Davis, does that make you and Mr. Phale the James Mason and Martin Landau of Fandom?") She described the newbies, and the bubbles, and the acceptance letters she had to read tonight. ("Somehow. I'd like to hire someone to do it for me...")

When she finally stopped talking, she shot Phale another glance. "And Angel's worried about you. And Mr. Phale. So c'mon. Hurry it up." She leaned over and whispered in his ear, "I'm in yuuur office, steeeealing yurr lollipops. Meow."

Aziraphale found himself just as curious to hear Parker's stories as he imagined Wilson would be, and he wondered if the doctor actually could hear it all, and was lying there and laughing inside.

He smiled to himself when she whispered in Wilson's ear, too. Maybe this was what they needed -- for the young doctor's friends to remind him why it was he needed to be with them, rather than wherever he was at the moment.

"I think," Aziraphale said very softly, "that if I were missing out on all of that, I'd want to get back as soon as I could."

Parker sent him a (for her) shy smile. "I hope it helps." She straightened, and brushed a finger across the orchid. "It's for both of you. I'll be back later, and I *hope* you'll have slept by then. If only to rest up for the next round of worrying."

Returning the smile, Aziraphale nodded. If anyone other than Wilson could bully him into actually sleeping, it was probably Parker.

"I'll try," he compromised, with a hint of teasing in his voice. "Perhaps tonight, I'll have a bit of nap. And then perhaps he'll wake up finally, and I'll be wretchedly angry at you that I wasn't hovering over him watching for it."

"Shoot," Parker snapped her fingers. "Guess I'll just have to brace myself for the storm, hunh?" She grinned. "Tell him I blame him for the tirade, when he wakes up." She brushed a hand over Phale's shoulder as she headed for the door. "And he'll be out of lollipops."

Aziraphale smiled, at both the friendly touch and the message.

"I'll tell him straight off. He'll probably give you detention," he offered. "Or make you wash his car."
