FTEC - Saturday evening shift [11/25]

Even with Wilson's driving, they were cutting it close.

Well, true neither Blair, River nor Phale had to be anywhere particular but Wilson did have the Saturday evening clinic shift to cover. Parking the BMW, everybody had been packed off with goodie bags full of whatever left overs anyone had wanted to taken with them and Wilson a long, lingering kiss to the angel's lips, Wilson had seperated from the small group with happy waves and headed on in to the clinic, soft sided brief case thrown over his shoulder.

First things, first...he checked for any occupants and then he started coffee to help him get through the night.

A little concerned as he saw that the exam rooms were indeed occupied, Wilson did a discreet check on the inhabitants before taking himself back to the front desk. He didn't want to needlessly disturb anyone who was resting back there.

Turning on a radio station with some warm and cheerful holiday music, Wilson sat back and grinned lopsidedly to himself. Over all, it had been a very pleasent three days away and he'd especially enjoyed having Phale, Blair and River along to enjoy it with him and now it was back to Fandom in all her glory.

Chuckling wryly, Wilson flipped on his laptop and got settled in to work on his paper, in between rounds.

Nadia was curled up on her side, facing the wall, not so much sleeping at the moment as staring blankly at the wall.

Well, at least she wasn't still on the boat.

Nadia blinked a bit blearily at Wilson and tried to shrug, but one shoulder being pressed to the bed and the other being immobilized in a sling made that a bit difficult.

Her voice rasped a bit and she coughed once before being able to talk at all coherently. "Been better."

Nadia nodded slowly and took a small sip of the water. "Good thing I'm not American. Would have been a bad Thanksgiving."

Nadia flinched ever so slightly at the contact, then shook her head. "No one to call. No family." She thought a moment. "El Professor. I want to talk to him. At least, eventually."

"If you're too busy--" Nadia paused to cough again, grimacing. "--I can call him later, I think." She wasn't sure what to say about Aziraphale. It was nice that he cared, but she didn't want to offend Wilson by wondering out loud why the angel hadn't come to help El.

It didn't occur to her that he might have been out of town and hadn't known. She was a teenager, after all. The world revolved around her.

"I know--" another pause to cough, another small sip of water, and she started over. "I know some of the others were hurt. The nun. . . . John. . . ."

Rosette was still very much unconscious.

And Chrono was still at her side, on his knees, head bent with his hands clutching at her cold hand, as he had since earlier that day, after she'd been treated. This was all his fault; he should have done a better job of stopping her...

Dr. Wilson could throw comforts at Chrono all night if he wanted, but Chrono would continue to refuse every one. He'd barely moved for his position of penance; it was almost as if he was praying, but, in truth, he had nothing to pray to. He had no where to go, either. Back to the church? The place would seem even more empty without her there, knowing where she was. He was going to stay here, like this, until they kicked him out.

John occupies an exam room, facing away from the door.
