Peter nodded. "What are you going to do with him when you capture him?"

"Bring him to my father," Zuko replied without hesitation. "He is the Fire lord, he is meant to deal with him."

It had really been a long time since Peter had considered having a father or overlord whose right it was to make a final decision so Zuko's answer was almost wholly unexpected. He nodded, slightly taken aback.

"He won't kill him," Zuko said, mistaking Peter's lack of response. "When the Avatar dies, he gets reborn. It would be foolish to have to start the search for him all over again."

"What will he do with him then?" Peter replied. "Convince him to join the Fire Nation?"

Zuko frowned. He knew his father seemed to think that once the Fire Nation won, the people would unite under him. He highly doubted that would happen. "If he believes that, then he has no clue who he is dealing with."

Peter was about to answer when the sword thief and older man started fighting in the trees. He watched transfixed for a long moment. "That's...amazing."

"It is," Zuko agreed, getting more and more convinced that they did have something in common with the airbenders. "They're both good too."

"Completely different style from what I'm familiar. It's much closer to yours or Setsuna's really," Peter said, grinning with pleasure at the excellent swordwork.

Zuko nodded in agreement, remembering Setsuna's demonstration. "She uses air in her attacks as well," he pointed out.

"I don't know if it's the same," Peter replied. "She's been starting to teach me her style and said that her wind attacks could be learned."

"That's strange," Zuko looked thoughtful. It might be that he was wondering how much of an advantage it would be to be able to combine fire and wind attacks.

Peter might have recognised that particular look. "You could always ask her at some point. To teach you."

Zuko nodded. "I might have. I don't think there will be time," he said.

"Perhaps you'll return after making sure your uncle's well," Peter replied.

"Perhaps," Zuko said noncommittally, watching even with greater interest as one of the women in the movies started using dual swords.

Peter didn't press the point. "I suppose there's only so many ways one can make a blade, but those look quite a bit like yours."

Zuko nodded in agreement. "They're shorter, but they're shaped the same and her style is very similar as well.

"It certainly looks that way," Peter said, watching her fight. "When my people use two swords, it's not nearly as fluid. Your style seems very connected rather than just using one sword with each hand."

"Your sword is heavier," Zuko said. "It doesn't allow you to regard it as anything but a weapon. Dual swords become an extension of your movements."

That sounded quite a bit like what Setsuna said about his sword so Peter frowned. "I disagree. It's a different style certainly, but it's still an extension of my arm when I fight with it."

Zuko glanced at him. "I am certain it suffices for your fights, but if I were to attempt to engage an airbender with a sword as heavy as yours, it would encumber me as it doesn't allow any fluent movements."

"Perhaps," Peter replied, raising an eyebrow at the fluent movements comment. "You don't generally wear armour though, do you? I'd not think your sword is strong enough to strike through it."

"I used to, but my armour got blown up along with the rest of most of my possessions," Zuko said bitterly. Not that it would have done him much good in the Earth Kingdom. "Our soldiers wear armour and some have heavier swords like yours, my dual swords require a more accurate aim. Even then, I fought off an earthbender with them and they withstood his attacks."

Peter shook his head. "Depends on who you're fighting." It wasn't exactly an argument that was going to be resolved though so Peter dropped it for then. "Blown up?"
