Peter made a face. "Honestly, that's fairly normal as far as school's go. Performances and recitals and such. When I was a little boy, we had to do it in front of our parents at Speech Days."
"I used to have to perform firebending moves in front of my parents or my grandfather," Zuko agreed, not remembering it fondly. It was just that he'd gotten used to being the one in charge and not having to go through the embarrassement anymore.
Noticing the distinct lack of pleasure in the memory, Peter had to wonder if firebending was something Zuko even liked at all. "Doesn't sound like fun," he commented.
"It usually wasn't," Zuko agreed, his interest returning to the movie as they seemed to be chasing people on top of rooftops right now. "Those look like airbenders."
"Airbenders can use the air to easily move around and jump on things," Zuko said, pointing out the fluent movement of the sword thief. "Fire might sound more efficient because of its dangerous nature, but you shouldn't underestimate airbenders. They can neutralise a fire attack and while the air hitting you, doesn't hurt you, the impact with the wall will."
Leaning forward, Peter eyed the attacks and movement of the sword thief, watching for weaknesses. "Yes, anything that throws me into a wall, I generally disapprove of. How do you fight one? Just be better?"
"He's the Avatar," Zuko replied, the discussion now getting priority over the movie. "He has the ability to learn how to master all four of the elements. He already learned waterbending as well. The longer he's left free, the more dangerous he will get."
It had really been a long time since Peter had considered having a father or overlord whose right it was to make a final decision so Zuko's answer was almost wholly unexpected. He nodded, slightly taken aback.
"He won't kill him," Zuko said, mistaking Peter's lack of response. "When the Avatar dies, he gets reborn. It would be foolish to have to start the search for him all over again."
Zuko frowned. He knew his father seemed to think that once the Fire Nation won, the people would unite under him. He highly doubted that would happen. "If he believes that, then he has no clue who he is dealing with."
Peter was about to answer when the sword thief and older man started fighting in the trees. He watched transfixed for a long moment. "That's...amazing."
"Completely different style from what I'm familiar. It's much closer to yours or Setsuna's really," Peter said, grinning with pleasure at the excellent swordwork.
"That's strange," Zuko looked thoughtful. It might be that he was wondering how much of an advantage it would be to be able to combine fire and wind attacks.
