FTEC: Monday July 17 - Day

Dr. Cox spends a good portion of the day checking in on the patients in the exam rooms and then watching his soaps.

It be best if you didn't disturb him when he's watching his soaps.

Jarod opened his eyes, surprised for a minute not to see the familiar ceiling of his room at the Sin. He put his hand to his head and remembered that he was now in the clinic.

He cleared his throat, and heard it. Someone had ended the problem. Wonderful. "Hello?" Jarod sat up and swung his legs to hang over the bed.

Dr. Cox just happened to be walking by at that point and walked into the room to hold the guy back. "Easy there, Buttercup. Let's give you a quick once over before you start running off to join a circus as the split-top head guy in the freakshow."

He pulls out a penlight and start shining it into Jarod's eyes. "Any headache? Nausea? Desire to dress up in women's clothing and sing songs from the Cher collection?"

Jarod squinted against the light. "Some headache, but no nausea. Who's Cher and why would I want to wear women's clothing?"

"Uh-huh. That's always a good sign," Dr. Cox grunted as he held up a finger and did one of those silly tests where he waves it around the person's face to watch their eye reactions. "If I were you I'd block out Sonny Bono from your memory as well. What day is it today?"

Exam Room #2 - Jamie Madrox

Dr. Cox notices that Jamie was not fed any pudding by Tommy. He makes a note in the log regarding the discrepancy and makes a not that this should be investigated by the local health board for the county.

After her baking workshop, Marie headed down to the clinic to visit Jamie.

She knocked softly on the door in case he was sleeping.

Jamie was awake and reading the B volume of the encyclopedia. He looked up and gave Marie a grin when she walked in.

"Hey, Marie. How are you?"

"Are the walls closing in, yet?" she asked cheerfully. Perhaps even relentlessly cheerfully.

Jamie began to mime out a shrinking invisible box before chuckling.

"No but the food here stinks. Plus I think the Jello they're feeding me is from the dragon fest the other weekend. You seem to be in a good mood today."

"It's all a matter of careful denial," she said honestly, though she tried to make it sound like a joke. "It's good to be able to talk."

"Quiet," Willow replied. She came in and held up a ziploc bag. "Cookies? Can you eat cookies? I don't want to get in the way of your doctor's instructions and put you into a coma or anything."

Becky was bored.

This was evidenced by the fact that she would occasionally say, "I'm bored," very loudly and then spend awhile poking at her wound because it was interesting.

She was up and awake for visitors, though. At least until evening, since she'll be gone by then omg as it is only a flesh wound.

Dr. Cox entered the room his eyes trained on his clipboard. "Well I'm sorry to hear about your state of boredom Ms. Vartan, but if you're a really good patient and do what I say, I'll let you out of class early and maybe you'll get a lollipop."

He finally looked up from his clipboard. "Now I'd like to check your stitches just to make sure Bucky didn't sew your shirt to your chest and then run a couple of tests to find out what's wrong with your skin condition."

Dr. Cox adds a note to her chart to check for color blindness as well. "Hate to tell you kiddo, but your skin tone appears to be missing some pigmentation. Have you been getting enough iron and vitamin C in your diet? Taken any steroids? Do you have anyone in the family with this condition?"

Jarod stopped by on the way out of the clinic. The bandage was white against his forehead. "Becky." He sighed. "Want me to bring you something until you get out of here? When will you be out of here, by the way?"

"Scalpel, then stitches," Jarod replied, shrugging. "I used the shirt to hold against my head so I didn't pass out on the way over. What happened to you? I guess we won?"
