FTEC, Thursday Evening

The sheer number of people residing in the clinic when Trevor arrives corrects any notion that it might be quiet this evening. But, he thinks, at least he won't be bored.

"Principal Washburn," Anakin said, using the same tone of fear he normally reserved for Mace Windu. "I have detention. Um, next week."

"Oh, yay, that's when I have it too," Rory said sarcastically, lying back.

That got his attention.

"You got detention?" He stared at her. "Did you get in a fight too? Because you look good if you did. Was it with Parker?"

Yeah, the drugs, they were good.

"Yes, Parker and I got into a huge catfight. Aren't you sad you missed it?" Rory said seriously. "There was Jello and clothes-ripping and everything."

Anakin totally pouted.

"Or possibly, in a place that isn't the mind of an eighteen year-old boy, I might have gotten a little snarky in my article for the paper this week, and Professor Skeeter didn't appreciate it," Rory said.

"I liked the first version better," Anakin said, closing his eyes and smiling.

"Guess we get to be juvenile delinquents together, then," he said, then winced. "Sithspit. The weekend Obi-Wan's in town. This'll be fun to explain."

"You would," Rory said, her tone affectionately resigned, moving a tiny bit closer and resting her head on his shoulder.

"Is 'Sithspit' a bad word?" she wondered. "Because it sounds like it."

Anakin leaned his head on hers with a contented sigh. "Well, it's not polite word, no," he said. "But it's not like it'll get you thrown into prison like saying..." he coughed. "Not that I would say that. Or know that word at all, really. Because it's wrong. And illegal in several systems."

"And now I'm curious," Rory said, raising an eyebrow. "And you have words that are illegal? We used to have laws like that, but now censorship kind of just applies to the media, not everyday talking and stuff."

"Just on certain planets," he said. "Mostly culturally sensitive words out in the Outer Rim where the Republic doesn't exactly have a handle on things." He smiled. "And since we tend to be sent to these planets, this is the kind of stuff that needs to be included in our briefs."

Rory sighed and snuggled closer, kicking her shoes off the side of the bed.

"Still sounds weird to me," she murmured. "And it's a mark of how braindead I am that I'm totally fighting the urge to giggle at 'in our briefs.'"

Anakin, now picturing the Jedi Council with nothing but serious expressions and their underwear, totally started giggling.

He kissed the top of her head. "Force, but I've missed you," he said.

Rory grinned, also giggling. "I've missed you too," she said. "But seriously, two days. We're being silly. Though -" she yawned "- this time it was harder. 'Cause it was like...permanentish."

"Yeah," Anakin said, yawning and curling himself around Rory. "Totally stupid idea. Never let me come up with the plans again."

He closed his eyes. "I'll have to look at your charts next week. When I'm not being such a, um, word that's banned on some planets."

"Could always pretend to be broken up 'till next week's over," Rory suggested drowsily, starting to actually fall asleep. "Or my genius plan of flailinating at Parker and Bridgey and Angela and stuff."

"We could try that first one," Anakin said, then yawned, "but I'm not sure I could pretend to be as miserable as I've been the last couple of days."

And he was pretty positive Rory couldn't either, but even drugged up he wasn't loopy enough to say it.

"Think up a brilliant plan o'er the weekend," he slurred. "Talk about it when you get back. Sleep now."

"Like sleep," Rory mumbled. "Missed sleep. Missed you."

"..sed you, too--" Anakin replied, falling asleep.

And Rory didn't even catch that much, since she'd fallen into a deep sleep.

That'll happen when you've had six hours or so of rest over a period of two days, and you finally feel right again.
