Susan opened up the clinic, hoping Dr. Lambert or one of the other doctors would show, and got ready for her appointment with Cameron.

Cameron was on time for his appointment with five minutes to spare and headed straight to Susan's office. He knocked on the doorframe if it was open.

"Cameron, come in, have a seat." Susan gestured to the couch and comfortable chairs in the room, and shut thd door. "Thank you for being so prompt."

"My mom raised me well," Cameron joked a bit nervously although he was definitely in a better mood than before as he this time sat down on the couch.

"Well, it's appreciated. Do you have any questions before we get started? I have a couple things I have to mention to you, but I want to make sure there's no confusion here first." Susan held up her notepad. "And for starters: do you mind if I take notes? They're in shorthand, and they never leave this office. But it helps me to have a reference."

"Uh, nothing that I can think of right away." Cameron said. To be honest he didn't really know what to expect, but he'd go with it. "I have no problems with the notes."

After a restless, uncomfortable sleep, Ivanova woke up feeling like she hadn't slept at all. Seeing that Dr. Pevensie was nowhere in sight, she swung her legs off the bed and reached for her cane, trying to make a break for it. If she was distracted, it might be her chance for a quick discharge.

Hearing Ivanova move around in Exam Room #2, Susan came in to check on her. "How did you sleep last night?" She disconnected the EKG leads, and moved the cane out of Ivanova's reach. "You weren't going to leave without telling me. I hope."

Ivanova looked longingly at the cane, now out of reach. "I was going to tell you," she replied defensively. "And I slept poorly. It wasn't the most comfortable of beds. And my ribs were feeling a bit sore."

"And I would have more sympathy for that if you would take your painkillers," Susan said, not unkindly. "Which are right over here, if you want them now." She took a look at the EKG readout, and frowned. "Hmm."




[any idea if anything would show up on this? weird delta waves, weird alpha, hiccups?]

Ivanova ignored the comment about the painkillers. "What 'Hmm'? 'Hmm's are bad. 'Hmm's usually mean that I have to stay in medlab longer."

Janet stopped by the clinic, wonder if they were going to be reorganizing and bringing on more aides.


OOC: I'm aware the answer is 'nothing is decided,' and that's cool. This is just my excuse for getting Janet into the clinic.

"Hello, can I -- oh, hello, Janet." Susan smiled and pulled out the lollipop jar. "Come to sign up to do your stint as an aide?"

"Have they figured out what the new requirements are yet?" asked Janet, hunting through the jar for a cherry lollipop. "I was thinking of signing up for something more regular than 'when monsters are attacking the school again.'"

She found a cherry lollipop godmodded, noes! and sat down, letting her backpack slide to the floor. "Or you could just call me when you need a hand before they decide anything."

"I'm afraid they haven't-- we're getting three or four new doctors, as I understand it, and only one has reported in so far, Dr. Lambert. I'm sure there will be a staff meeting deciding how many aides we need, and what the basic requirements will be, but for now, I wouldn't venture a guess as to what we'll be looking for." Susan smiled at Janet.

"I most definitely would call you if monsters were 'attacking' again, however. You were an enormous help two weeks ago. I'm sorry I didn't write you a thank-you note later. Right now, Alanna seems to be picking up the slack on the aides' hours, but since she's still injured, I may call you just to watch the desk? Since you'll at least recognize a fracture when you see one?"

"Wow," said Janet. "That's a whole lot more than we had here before. It'll be nice to meet them all." She shrugged. "Whatever is fine. I think we had clinic aides dropping like flies last semester. We managed to keep everyone in the library, though. I wonder what the difference is?"

Janet shrugged again. "Monsters attack, the school goes into crisis, I help with the injured. It's not a big deal, so no thank-you note is really necessary. I--can, yes, recognize a fracture when I see one, so I don't mind watching the desk." Janet's smile was normal, but there might be a slightly bitter look in her eyes. "I can get homework done that way. Gimme a holler via e-mail or IM later and we can schedule something up?" And then, on a whim, she added, "What about counseling. Can I schedule an appointment?"

She comes in with coffee and cheesy poofs around 1, looking for Susan.

Susan looked up from her notes on Susan Ivanova, shaking her head, and smiled when she saw C.J. had entered the office, and closed her own door as she went out to meet her.

"C.J.! I haven't seen you in a week. How are you?"

"I'm good, Susan. I've been phenomenally busy IRL and this is my first chance to get down here. How've you been. Getting settled into the fun that is Fandom?"

"Oh, Lord." Susan took a Cheeto, contemplated it a moment, then crunched it. "My schedule is filling up, and among some amazingly tough kids, there are some with problems that are incredibly intimidating. I had to help with a surgery for the first time since my residency during the Snow Monster debacle. And I haven't been out of my apartment to do *anything* other than catch up on world history in about a week and a half. It's been that overwhelming." Susan shook her head a little morosely. "How about you?"

"Me? I've been working on lesson plans, paring them down from last term since I have fewer studens. Grading speeches. Spending time with Ten and trying not to miss my kids or friends too much. Seems like a mass migration out of town. Oh, and I got turned into t ateenager...that was fun. For a day or two anyhow."

Natalie showed up around six, mainly to pick up a few things from her crates. Curious, she poked her head in a few doors to see who was around, aside from Dr. Pevensie. She wondered if any of the other doctors had shown up. From the lack of traffic, she guessed not. Then again, a lack of traffic here was good.

Susan was slumped over the front desk, but she gave Natalie a half-hearted wave as she came in. "We have a patient in Exam Room #2. How are you this evening?"

"Good -- if a little restless," Nat replied with a smile. "I thought I'd stop in, say hello, maybe pick up a thing or two from my crates. But, since there's someone in number 2, it can wait. I don't want to disturb anyone." She leant slightly against the counter. "How are you doing? You look a bit... tired."

"I just had to sedate Susan Ivanova, the girl in Exam #2." She sighed. "She was having some kind of seizure, and I don't know *why*. Do you have any experience with brain scans? Mine is good -- for 1962. I'd like a second opinion."

"I can certainly take a look at it, though I'm not sure I'd see anything different." She furrowed her brow. "What did you find in your initial review?"
