Clinic Hours - Friday December 16th 2005
Wilson had been up late waiting for a call from House and up early waiting for a call from House, spending almost an hour on the phone each time trading the rapid fire medical jargon relating to Dorothy House's condition and then calming House down. Sometimes by coddling him, sometimes by being firm with him and not for the first time Wilson wished he was there but House needed to be with his mother, with as little stress as possible.
So, phone calls.
As he yawned his way through setting up the Clinic, Wilson set up one of Phale's flyers in the window Holiday Gathering at the bookshop and since he hadn't picked up a formal flyer, he made up his own picture of a little group of stick figures carolling to hang beside the flyer with a note Don't forget about the caroling in town this evening! See Michael or Ben to sign up and spend a nice evening in town!
Then he went about brewing coffee while he hummed along with the Boston Pops, Holiday of Wonder musical compilation.
Doctor is in!

The Waiting Room 12/16/05
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
"Hello Dr. Wilson," he says, hopping right up on the front desk without spilling a drop of coffee.
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
"Good afternoon, Jonathan, missed you on Wednesday. How did finals go?"
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
"Let's not talk about it," he says, "I'm actually here for a kind of specific purpose. I umm, I'm leaving. At the end of the term. For good."
He looks down at his coffee as he says it swinging his feet in front of him.
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
"Well...I wish you the best, Jonathan."

Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
Walking towards the desk, the oncologist shifted some papers before speaking with a sort of soft spoken honesty.
"I respect you, Jonathan. Genuinely. I respect your abilities in the field of psychology." Turning to look at the young man there was for the first time that hint of wariness...professional wariness as he admitted. "You're going to be...damn good at what you do."
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
"See Doctor, this is communication, imagine if we'd been able to do this months ago?" he says before running a hand through his hair, "Thank you though. Your opinion really does mean something to me, and not just because you're a world famous oncologist who likely knows what he's talking about when it comes to my abilities or lack thereof."
He smiles again, widely and shakes his head, "Maybe we should leave that alone though. I mean, I won't ever come in here to steal you coffee again."
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
I've been naughty.Grissom takes a seat in the waiting room and he too, hums along to the Pops. He's wearing a bulky sweater and baggier pants than usual, which is not what he generally wears, and his beard is a little fuller as well. Not that he would ever subconciously try to ignore something that was affecting him only to have it mainifest itself in fairly unsubtle methods of denial, not Grissom. Nope. Never.
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
Looking up from where he was putting the last numbers of a request form, Wilson smiled brightly when he saw his patient.
"Dr. Grissom! Good afternoon, how are you today?"
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
"And how are you?"
Re: The Waiting Room 12/16/05
Holding the door open for Grissom, Wilson asked curiously. "Are you going away from the island for the holiday?"
[ooc: Going to set up a thread for the exam room! :D]
Note
Re: Note
"Hope you have a good one also, Alanna." He said to the air and tucked the note into House's 'in-box' for the older doctor to see when he got back.
Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
"We are, actually. Home to Vegas for a week or so," he said with a peculiar smile. It was odd to describe Vegas as home, as he never truly set down roots there when he was a full-time resident. But it seemed somewhat appropriate now. "And then a few days in San Francisco after the New Year."
"And yourself? Are you going to be able to get away from the Clinic?"
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
"'We' Dr. Grissom? Is the lovely Miss Sidle joining you then?"
Items in hand, he turned and nodded for Gris to make himself comfortable as he gave a gentle shrug.
"Actually, I don't know. House's mother had a heart attack a couple of days ago and he flew out to be with her. I might suggest he stay there over the holidays, I know he'll want to anyway in which case I'll stay here and hold down the fort."
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
At Wilson's revelation, Grissom looked quite solemn.
"I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure that if Dr. House is there with his mother, however, she is receiving the best medical care possible, and it helps to be with those you love," he said, trying to be reassuring. He rolled up his sleeve and continued, a little awkwardly. He'd grown to like and respect Wilson, and felt comfortable with him, and he had true sympathy for him.
"If there's anything I can do..." he trailed off, realizing most students would be a little creeped out having an ex-coroner fix their boo-boos for an afternoon. "I do have a 30 Year Old Laphroiag sitting around getting dusty."
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
He straightened and set up the bag, then started the chemo. Smiling at Grissom, who's quiet and sometimes quirky company he enjoyed, Wilson walked over to make some notes, actually going as far as to hop up on the counter, sitting down while he wrote.
"It is a shame for good Laphroiag to be sitting around gathering dust, Dr. Grissom." Wilson scolding with a twinkle in his dark eyes. "But thank you for the offer, it should hopefully be quiet enough around here for me to handle everything. Ah...but I should ask, do you have a physician I can contact and run over your notes with so that you don't miss a couple weeks of therapy. I know it's probably tempting but your blood work from two weeks ago was...fantastic. I'd hate to lose any ground."
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
"We'll be back from San Francisco in time for classes to resume, so my only concern is next week, the 23rd. I'm concerned about my ability to fly right after a treatment."
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
Wilson paused and pursed his lips, nodding towards Grissom understandingly.
"Can you move your appointment up a day? Come in on the 22nd or even the 21st? Though the 22nd would be preferrable."
Re: Exam Room 1 - Grissom - 12/16 NFB
"The 22nd would probably be better for both of us. Thank you."
