Clinic Hours - Monday November 21st 2005

Wilson was still tired and in all honesty, he expected to be through the holiday weekend. He was physically run into the ground -hey, Fandom might be a relatively small island but you trying running all up and down those hills ~~particularly hauling Angel's muscular ass around~~- and as for emotionally...

Yeah that was pretty much still touch and go also.

But, the Clinic was open the lights inviting and the smell of a Christmas Blend coffee filled the air. Wilson was working on discharge papers/information for Rory and Logan. He could only imagine that they were more then ready to be sprung though he was uncertain about when exactly that springing was going to happen.

Doctor....well the coffee's made, come by and have a cup if you wish.

Lana comes in quietly. "Hi, Dr. Wilson. I wanted to thank you for taking such good care of Shep the other day. I went to see him yesterday. He was pretty out of it on the meds, but he seemed in good spirits. I'm going to stop by again today. Thanks for letting the hospital know I'd be coming by so I wouldn't have any trouble seeing him."

Wilson looked up from where he was attempting to concentrate on a bit of paperwork and he smiled warmly.

"Hello, Lana." Sitting back his smile grew. "He's doing well then? Excellent to hear. I'm sorry that I had to send him to the mainland and couldn't let you go with but I'm glad the hospital didn't give you any trouble about seeing him."

"It's all right, I understand. He just looked so scared, you know? And I kind of like to see things through once I start them." She smiled at Dr. Wilson.

"He seemed pretty good. We'll see today when he's off the really strong pain meds." She hesitates for a moment. "And I wanted to thank you again for being so good to me when I was in a few weeks ago. It really made me feel better that you didn't act like you thought I was crazy or something."

Logan woke up in time to hear the morning's announcements. "What?! Fuck that shit!" he yelled. He tossed off the blankets, slid out of bed and searched for his shoes.

Rory sat up, propped against her pillows, and read Sense and Sensibility while listening to the Cranberries on her iPod.

If she looked sad or scared, it was probably just the harsh lighting.

Rory blinked drowsily when she heard Logan yelling in the next room, and, remembering the night before, buried her head under her pillow and went back to sleep.

Anakin rapped gently on the door jamb.

"Hey," he said.

Dark eyebrows lifted slightly but then he smiled warmly and gave his head a shake.

"Around here, Lana? I've learned that very little is impossible or improbable. I hope you're feeling better?"

"Anakin!" Rory cheerfully greeted him, looking up from her book and yanking out her earbuds. "Hi! How are you?"

He shrugged. "There have been better weekends." He stared at her for a moment. "But I suspect you know that." His hands moved helplessly at his sides. "There aren't really words for this, are there?"

Rory shrugged. "I don't think Hallmark makes a 'Sorry an evil vampire bit you,' card, no. But don't worry about it. I'm going to be fine."

Anakin smiled. "I should've checked at the Emporium. Around here, they might have that." His eyes were serious. "You sure you're going to be okay?" Not that he was exactly trusting his instincts on beings these days, but Rory was very definitely not her normal self.

"Anything I can bring?" He looked around the room. "Books, stupid movies, Jedi party tricks?"

Rory frowned pensively, and shook her head. "Nah, I think I have everything. iPod, books, puppy..."

She arched a brow. "Though. Party trick, you say? Do you have glitter? Or are you going to do somethng else?"

Anakin pulled a small container from his pocket. "As it happens, I just happen to have some glitter with me. Leftovers from Halloween." He grinned. "I've gotten better at this--manage to make sure it doesn't spill everywhere, so the clinic won't be cleaning it up for the next year."

He took a handful of the glitter in the palm of his hand. "Any requests?"

Lana smiled a bit ruefully, "True. And yes, I'm feeling better. It's strange having a whole chunk of your life that has just disappeared - just *gone* - but I'm working around it. And I heard Archie is back, but I haven't seen him - or if I have I haven't recognized him."

She took a deep breath. "I don't know what I'd do or remember if I did see him, but I've decided I'll cross that bridge when I come to it."

"Hmm..." Rory thought, chewing on her lower lip. "I've got nothing. Surprise me," she grinned.

Anakin looked down at where Vladdie was sleeping on the bed and was struck with an idea.

The gold glitter whirled off of his hand, twirled into a ball, and hovered at a perfect, flying-puppy tempting height.

Vladdie opened an eye, and perked up immediately. He bounced to his feet, and tilted his head at the ball, barking once.

Anakin smiled and moved his hand up. The ball bounced about a foot higher into the air and shimmered.

Vladdie yipped and flew up into the air so that he was eye level with the ball.

Rory watched the proceedings with a bemused smile.

The glitter swirled away from Vladdie and turned back into a ball a few feet away and closer to the floor.

Anakin split his concentration between controlling the glitter and watching Rory.

Vladdie leapt off the bed and raced over to the OMGSPARKLY.

Rory giggled. "You should carry glitter around all the time, just to do stuff like this."

Anakin grinned. "Only special people get to see the party tricks," he replied.

The glitter ball bounced up into a corner of the room, hovering about five feet off the floor.

"Aw," Rory said softly, smiling. One might get the feeling that if she had enough blood circulating, she'd blush.

Vladdie zoomed up into the air after it, and swatted, missing it entirely and instead doing a somersault midair.
