Wednesday morning found Wilson down in the clinic with a few of his own journals, a legal pad, the PDA and a cup of coffee. It was better then just sitting in the apartment and watching bad morning game shows and his services might actually be required, one never knew.
And if they weren't...well...he had enough questions of his own, in between the vampire, the mutant and the old soul in a young body he'd met so far.

"Okay, let me run this and we'll set about drawing some blood."
He stood up and padded up towards the front of the clinic, finding the machine and running the card through, putting a charge of $85.00 to it.
"This will cover the draw, the lab work and mailing you a copy of the results. Err...sign? Here."
He held out the slip and a pen, though looked over to the counter towards an ink pad in case they had to do a paw print.

He rose up onto his hind legs to place them both back on the counter.

"I am...impressed. Okay, lets umm...get started."
Waving the canine towards the clinic proper, Wilson racked his brain and tried to remember his animal anatomy.
"There is usually a checklist that goes with a draw of this nature. I'm not sure the vaccine history is going to be the same for you but we should probably go through the rest of the questions, if you don't mind?"

"Okay, let's see what we have here. When was the last time you were tested?"

Laying the clipboard on the table beside Red, he reached for a stethescope.
"Are you on any perscription medications?"

Hands that moved with clinical gentle thoroughness began to examine the canine.
"What about sex?"

Wilson said, not unsympathetically as he made a mark and then it took him a couple thoughtful attempts to figure out the best place to take a pulse and respiration, each of which he noted down in the chart.
"How about family history of...well...unhealthiness?"

"Okay, I think I'm going to need to shave a little area to draw the blood, do you have a preference? Also, is there anything beyond these questions that I should be aware of?"

"You're a large, red canine, who is incredible articulate, polite and scary looking. You have a credit card, can write with your paw using a utensil made for a human hand and I can barely cut paper with right handed scissors. I'd say you're rather extrodinary. Okay, quick stick."
One thing James Wilson was good at, was delivering needle injections.

His tail swished irritably but otherwise he sat still for the doctor.

"There, all done."
Okay...so that swishing tail had him a little nervous.

"Any idea when we can expect the results?"

Picking up the two vials he'd drawn, Wilson began to make notes on the side labels.
"Well, since I'm not doing anything else useful at the moment, probably within 48 hours." The oncologist grinned good naturedly and gently rotated the vials in his hand.
"Do you want me to send you the results? Or would you like to come in to pick them up?"

"All right. I will be in touch when I have everything back. Was there anything else you needed today?"
no subject
"I won't mind paying..."

Wilson made a mental note to check with House.
"How about rubber gloves?"
