Fandom Clinic; Thursday [09/28].

Libby was pretty distracted that day with texting back and forth to Zo about her possibly coming to visit this weekend, but not so distracted that she hadn't noticed all the activity going on in Stabby's tank. Specifically, it looked like he was working out a bit, lifting things over his head with his claws, crouching and squatting a lot, and scuttling back in forth in what looked like laps and ladders.

"Is he training for something?" she wondered, asking one of the nurses. "Or is he just trying to get healthier?"

"He's hoping to join the Florida army," the nurse explained.

"The Florida...army?" Libby knew she grew up sheltered, but that was definitely the first time she'd heard of Florida having its own army.

"Yeah," the nurse shrugged it off like everyone knew that Florida had an army. "To save the reefs."

And then the nurse drifted off to take care of something, leaving Libby frowning and confused and deciding that she really needed to go google something.

The Clinic is open!

Talk to Libby, get medical attention, or just cheer the crab on in gettin' them gains.

"Morning Libby!" Kurt said with his usual grin as he poked his head in and gave a wave before entering. "How's it going? Ready for Parent's Week?"

"Morning, Kurt," Libby grinned back, lifting a hand and giving a small, pleased wave back, before immediately going to push back her chair and get the other one to drag back to the desk for him. "It's going pretty well, I think Zo's all set to come visit, I know she's pretty excited to see everyone again."

Well, Libby and Kurt in particular, but still!

"How's your day been? Did you hear anything about whether anyone'll be coming from back home for you yet?"

"Will be good to see Zo if she does make it! Will be good to catch up with her" Kurt said as he walked over. The smile went a little lopsided at that question though. "Ah yeah... ummm... Logan will be coming by so that will be interesting" Kurt said as he rubbed the back of his head.

Libby's grin grew, with warmth and fondness, at the sheepishness; it was really hard not to notice how cute it was. "But it'll be nice, right?" she asked, clearly knowing what a matter of perspective that likely was. "To have him come visit?"

"Oh yeah, it's always fun when Logan is around" Kurt said with a grin. "And it's just him coming so, should have plenty of time to show him around and all!" And hopefully not end up being gruff to half the island in the process!

"What are you looking forward to showing him the most?" Libby prompted, leaning forward a little with an eager grin to hear how Kurt might plan out that aspect of his weekend...and then to eventually compare those plans to how things actually turned out.

"Well aside from having him meet my amazing girlfriend... " Kurt said with a small wink at Libby, "I know he wants to hit up the Devil's Nest one night on his own, and I really hope we make it out to the preserve. It's one of my favorite places here on the island and also a great place to show him the progress I've made on the teleporting and all since I was last home. What about you? Any exciting plans for Zo, or just winging it mostly?"

Libby beamed at her position on the list and at the wink; she liked to think that would have been the top priority, but she certainly wouldn't have wanted to assume! "I'm definitely looking forward to finally getting to meet him," she admitted, although it was hardly a secret, and then she laughed "and I think I might just let Zo loose on the island and see what happens. That would probably be way more entertaining than if I tried to actually plan anything. I might have to put my foot down when it comes to getting to see gremlins up close, though, for her own good."

There was no doubt where Libby's position was on that list and Kurt would happily remind her of that as many times as was necessary. "Oh the island won't know what hit it" Kurt said with a laugh as he imagined that. "But if Zo insists on trying to see the gremlin maybe make sure I am around, in case a quick rescue is needed?"

"Or someone to help me take pictures," Libby grinned. "If she got bit and we didn't record the evidence, I don't think she'd ever forgive me. I think she's mostly just excited to see you, and I've been sending her all sorts of Stabby news, so meeting him will be big for her, too."

"Oh definitely, pictures or it didn't happen!" Kurt laughed in agreement. "I'm glad shes getting to come visit again. It'll be good to see her again. And oh I bet shes excited to meet our resident celebrity" Kurt said with a glance towards Stabby's tank.

"He's training right now," Libby disclosed as Kurt looked toward the tank, in case he wondered why Stabby appeared to be doing some sort of pull-up on a decoration inside. "He wants to join some crab army that's supposedly helping with saving Florida's ocean reefs."

She was very proud of her googling skills, thank you. Considering she barely even knew what google was before coming here...

Google was a best friend and worst enemy all rolled into one!

"Well, that is an admirable cause" Kurt said still watching Stabby curiously. "I've only ever seen coral reefs in pictures, but I imagine they are ten times as beautiful in person! Maybe someday I will get to see them!"

"Maybe Stabby will send us a postcard," Libby said, a little fondly, a little wistfully. "Or we'll have the chance to see some on one of the next school trips. They always do take us to such amazing places, it definitely seems like it could be possible!"

"OH good point about the school trips! We might end up somewhere like Australia!" Kurt said excitedly. "There's so many great places we could end up. With Fandom... with school... with each other. It's exciting to think about isn't it?"

There was a small touch of sadness in Libby's smile in response to that, especially that last part.

"I'm going to really have to make the most out of these last two," she said. "I definitely didn't see anything about any big, elaborate trips for any of the nursing schools I'm applying for, unfortunately."

"Will just make them all the more special whenever you can get off somewhere really cool when you finish up at nursing school" Kurt said with a soft smile.

"Maybe somewhere cool and inexpensive," Libby said with a small laugh, the kind of laugh to sort of cover the way her heart sort of fluttered and tugged at that when you finish up. Which was why there was almost a cautiously warning tone to her words as she added, "And it's probably going to be a while. But I'll still have breaks there, too, and can maybe visit."

"And I can always come visit too" Kurt offered with a soft smile. "The time will make the visits we do get all the more special" he added with a somewhat hopeful tone.

"Oh," said Libby, a little worried crease appearing on her brow as she frowned a little uncertainly over at Kurt, "well, I....I'm not sure if that would work as well, though. You, visiting me, I mean. It might...take some work to get people out there comfortable with the idea of my boyfriend being...well...blue."

And she felt terrible for saying it, but it had been something she'd thought about a lot. Here, it was easy to forget that where Libby was from, people just weren't blue...

"Ah right... the mutant thing" Kurt said rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah that would be a bit much for ya to try and explain and all wouldn't it? Blue, fangs, tail,ears, eyes hands and toes... quite the packaged. Can't really pass me off for normal eh?" he said with a small laugh, though he did look a bit crestfallen at being reminded just how different things were outside of Fandom. "You'd still be able to come... whenever you get a break...If it works out and all."

And now Libby felt even more terrible about mentioning it with that response, and she didn't know if it would be much, but she reached out to take Kurt's hand and give it a reassuring squeeze. "I would like to make it work at some point," she told him. "Because it should be normal. And it shouldn't matter to anybody that you're different from them. Everybody is different from everyone else, just in different ways."

Krut returned the hand squeeze with a nod and an appreciative smile. "Aye. Someday it'll be ordinary. So ordinary no one will even bat an eye at it."

"Maybe starting, then," Libby said, "with you coming to visit me at school. I just...might need some time to warm my dormmates up to the idea." There was another squeeze. "But I'd like that. It would be nice....Ohh, and here I am, already thinking about how much I'm going to miss you, when we've barely even started this semester!"

"Aye, got time still. Def gonna make the best of it" Kurt said with a squeeze of his own. "Ya ain't getting rid of me that easy" he added with a wink.

Hopefully, these won't be needed for any workout related injuries!
