Even though she'd only missed a week, having gone home during the break, Libby felt like she had a lot of work to catch up on with her modules and study guides. Which was probably a good thing, because it was a good way to get back into the swing of things, but she had to admit, she was a little distracted, because Stabby, it seemed, had gone back to living up to his name, and with enthusiasm.

"Should...we be worried about that?" she asked one of the nurses, nodding toward the tank, where Stabby was making quick work out of a target inside his tank with his knife.

"...probably," said the nurse, which was not reassuring, especially considering the long pause before the answer came out of him.

"It's about his cousins, I think," another nurse offered more helpfully.

"His...cousins?" asked Libby, eyes going wide. "What did I miss?"

And so she got to hear all about Stabby's missing cousins and his concern (and how it had clearly warped into rage since Tuesday) for them, and now Libby couldn't focus on her work at all, because now all she wanted to do was find some way to help make Stabby feel better...

Where Libby might be online checking to see how much it might cost to hire some kind of crab detective, although didn't they have a detective agency here in town, too? Did they offer crab services? She might need to find out.

"Good day Libby" Kurt said as he walked into the clinic that afternoon around the normal time. "I'm a little early, hope its ok. We can chat until you go on break? Or.. I can come back later if you are busy."

Actually, Kurt had probably shown up at just the right time, considering how her head was tilted with intrigue at the computer screen when he came in, the sort of intrigue that one had when they were just about to fall unwittingly into a crab-related internet rabbit hole. So she pulled herself away from that edge she didn't even realize was there and blinked her way back into the world around her, and smiled when she saw who it was.

"Now is good," she assured him, already pulling her chair back to go grab the second chair for Kurt. "I wasn't doing much, just researching some stuff. I think now is the perfect time for a break, actually, thank you, Kurt."

Kurt grinned as he walked over and took a seat. "Well, glad I decided to pop over then and save you from the research" he added with a grin. "Everything ok here? Getting caught up after your trip?"

"Maybe not as much as I should," Libby admitted with a bit of a sheepish, but not terribly guilty smile. "I've been distracted looking for crab detectives."

"Crab detectives?" Kurt asked, tilting his head slightly in confusion. "That sounds interesting. Is Stabby in need of a Private Investigator or anything?" Kurt asked as he pulled out the container with today's lunch offering inside.

"He might be," said Libby, and, as intriguing as this crab drama may be, she found herself distracted by her eagerness to see what Kurt had brought to eat this week. "Apparently, some of his cousins went missing. It made me wonder if it was anything that a detective might be able to look into, you know?"

"I hope he finds them. They probably just went on an impromptu vacation for something. It is the vacation time of year, after all." Kurt gave a small smile and opened up the container so Libby could see. "And in the meantime, I brought some nice spicy sausage pasta for lunch."

"That is a good point," Libby allowed, and she really hoped that was it, just a vacation, and not that it was, well...But she smiled back at Kurt for his positive outlook on it and scolded herself for jumping to her own much more dismal conclusions. "Maybe they'll be back before an investigation can even start, and it'll all work out.

"And that sounds great, Kurt," she beamed now, glad to focus on food instead. "But hopefully not too spicy! I'm not sure if I could handle too much!"

"Naw nothing worse than what you have had before" Kurt reassured with a smile. "And the real spice is in the sauce, which I have kept separate so you can add as little or as much as you like."

"Then I should be able to handle it just fine," Libby said, with a confidence that suggested she'd even forge through the spiciest of spicy foods if she had to make that true. "And thank you, Kurt. I'm really looking forward to this. I..." There was a small duck of her head against a faint blush, "I missed getting to have lunch with you last week."

"I really missed it too" Kurt said with a smile as he slid the container and one of the bowls over to Libby so she could help herself. "I... I'm glad you are back, here... back on the island..." Kurt now ducked his head a little his voice going a little softer. "With me" he added as he gave Libby a small smile.

It had only been a week, but Libby felt like her heart had done a little extra surge with its beating when Kurt looked at her and smiled liked that, sending a blush rushing to her cheeks so strongly she had to duck her head.

"Did you bring silverware?" she asked, realizing that there was no way to keep that smile off her face, and she lifted her head to look at him again, tucking her hair behind an ear. "Or do we need to brave the Drawer?"

And seeing that smile on Libby's face just made his own grin grow even more as he looked at her and that little fuzzy tingle all over his fur as he did.

"I came prepared" Kurt said as he handed a set over to Libby. "Figured why risk the drawer, no need to possibly spoil a perfect lunch date!"

Hopefully, no one manages to get a hand in the way of Stabby's knife, but if they do, well, then....

I came in here just trying to bounce off of a previous post and may have wound up with a whole-ass subplot, wtf brain.
