Fandom Clinic; Thursday [11/17].
Instead of a module on the computer to help her out with her next step in her haphazard nursing education here at the clinic, Libby had a book to read through, which she honestly much preferred, even if the interactive elements of some of the modules made it a little more fun than just studying.
She couldn't help but feel, however, that the nurses might have been trying to tell her something with this one.
But noticing the look of hurt and betrayal that she did a poor job of hiding on her face, they were also quick to assure her that it was just a tongue-in-cheek title for a series of introductory books, and that it wasn't anything against her intelligence, she was clearly a very smart young woman, and, besides, look, even Stabby had one, too.
Which is when Libby looked over to notice that Stabby did, indeed, have a tiny little book with a similar title, and that was just so adorable that she plum near forgot to be insulted.
The Clinic is open!

The Front Desk - 11/17.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"Gey Libby, hows it going?"
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"Hey, Kurt," she greeted back, smiling gratefully. "Pretty quiet so far today, but that's a usually a good thing. Mostly doing some reading and helping to restock all the sparkly band-aids we ran through over the weekend. How are you?"
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"Quiet is good usually, at least it means that no one is bleeding or anything," Kurt said with a nod then gave a slightly sly grin to Libby. "But if you ever need to practice or anything, or get too bored, I can always pretend to need some medical attention."
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
Though he wouldn't blame her if Libby didn't feel like spending more than their normal lunch break together. It was a big jump and Kurt was already second guessing asking about it now.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
Libby smiled back through the new rush of heat to her cheeks. "Well, then," she said, "in that case..." She rolled her chair back to grab the other chair and pushed it up to the desk for Kurt, as always. "Have a seat. Did you bring lunch today? Usually, it's recommended to abstain from eating at least twelve hours before any major surgery, but I think we can make an exception in this case."
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
And yes, typical Kurt move. Using humor to downplay the absolute summersaults his insides were doing. He still got a bit of a rush and couldn't keep a smile off his face any time he came in to see Libby. But right now, it was like every butterfly in his stomach was buzzing on caffeine or something.

"Could be. Hopefully, it's nothing too serious. I might have to stay here at the clinic till I feel better!" Not that that was such a bad thing... really... there could be a lot worse things to be stuck doing....
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
But her mentioning all those kids running around this weekend made her pause with a moment's hesitation before looking over at Kurt. "Pretty sure I saw you running around at that carnival on Saturday," she noted.
Sure, it could have been TJ, but, either way, it seemed like a pretty good chance. And, of course, the realization had only hit her in retrospect. At the time, little Libby was just generally overwhelmed with everything.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"Aye I was there. It was a lot to take in.... everything seemed so new and different" he said with a sad smile as he looked at Libby somewhat apologetically. "I'm sorry if you were bored or lonely over the weekend."
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
The whole weekend had blown poor little Libby's absolute sheltered mind.

He had wanted to make Libby feel better, to comfort her, and maybe even subconsciously let her know she didn't have to go back to that way of living, because that discussion about her father's plans for her was always there in the back of his mind, even if it rarely was spoken of out loud. He just wanted Libby to be happy.
But now... he worried he had overstepped and he shifted his gaze away from Libby as he went to pull his hand away, a whispered 'sorry' falling softly as he did.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
Followed very swiftly by a wave of disappointment just flooding right out of her when it turned out that she wouldn't have to worry about responding at all, as Kurt's hand pulled away, and she was left reeling a little over what had just happened.
And contending with the fact that she really wished he had, but also the logical reasoning that maybe it was better that he hadn't. Feeling like her entire face was just filling with red in that moment, she kept her attention very firmly on the food in front of her.
"It...it's okay," she said, not even entirely sure what she was reassuring him over, or what he was even apologizing for, but she quickly scrambled around for something else to add onto it. "T-thank you," she then said, trying to look over at Kurt, but while she could move her head and her shoulders, her eyes didn't seem to be able to follow. "For bringing lunch. It...it really is one of the best parts of my day, you know."
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"I'm glad," Kurt said shyly, trying to lift his gaze to Libby and almost making it before it fell back to his plate. "Lunches here, with you, are the best part of my Thursdays as well." And when he was finally able to lift his gaze to meet Libby's the smile on his face hopefully conveyed just how honest a statement that was.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
And, with that hopefully not misguided confidence, Libby chanced a glance over toward Kurt, too, and, seeing that he was looking at her, too, tentatively smiled back, and, just like when they'd been dancing together on Friday, didn't let herself look away. No matter how much it made her feel like some unseen bolt of lightning had just come and struck her right in the chest.
(Honestly, she kind of liked it).
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
It had taken him far too long to convince himself that all of this was possible, that he could find someone he could know enough to call them a friend. And then to believe there could be someone who could see past all the obvious distractions and actually see, know, and even care about the real Kurt Wagner.... Now he was still trying to believe that those feelings were returned and that it actually was happening. And it was Libby, of all people... that was the most unbelievable part of it all.
"Aye," Kurt said softly. "Definitely the highlight of the week for sure" he ventured with a grin, eyes still locked with Libby, his one hand still on the table where he had let it fall earlier.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"Well," she said, not intending for it to be as quiet as it was, but the words seemed to have gotten a little stuck in her throat, and she cleared it a little, as subtly as she could, to help them out a little more, "that's good to hear. It would be a little awkward, wouldn't it, if one of us wasn't enjoying it?"
Because, clearly, there was no awkwardness currently. At all. None in the slightest...
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"It would, but it seems to be something we both enjoy, which is good. Though that definitely means if you ever do change your schedule for work you will have to let me know." Here Kurt gave a small grin as he glances up at Libby shyly. "Unless you want me to play the guessing game and show up here with food every day until I happen to get it right?"
Kurt tilted his head a bit and gave a quick glance around to see if any of the nurses had heard cuz, that would probably work very much in their favor come to think of it.
Re: The Front Desk - 11/17.
"You know what?" she said. "Maybe I will. There's only seven days in a week, right? So eventually you'll get it, and, until then, you can share with whoever is working that day instead. I'm sure they'll appreciate it as much as I do."
Well, probably not as much, but...
