Fandom Clinic; Thursday [09/22].

Libby didn't exactly have time to ask any questions about why Stabby seemed to have gained a small crown, a fancy cloak, and some kind of scepter (that looked oddly similar to a needle), because, apparently, it became very important for her to be learning everything she could about vaccinations all of a sudden. The documents put in front of her by one of the nurses was honestly just a little overwhelming, and a lot for her to handle when she was already fairly distracted by having guests coming this weekend.

Well. At least she wouldn't be bored. There was also a patient staying in one of the exam rooms, and of course they'd be shoving her in there to do a check-in, which wasn't at all nervewracking for her or anything! But she needed more practice with that sort of thing; actual patients were so few and far between...

And then she'd have to figure out how to broach the awkward subject of the fact that she was 95% sure she hadn't been vaccinated for almost anything...

The Clinic is open!

Yes, Arthur was definitely...still here. Still with a tube in his arm that was apparently giving him vitamins. Still a bit under the weather from his multiply-broken leg, neck wound, malnourishnment, and now the ridiculous number of vaccinations they had presumably started giving him.

He was also really, really bored. At least in the prison pit, he'd had escaping to occupy him. Mid-morning one of the nurses had taken pity on him and left him a small box she'd claimed was a radio. Now he was trying to figure out how to use a miniature radio with buttons and no knobs, as well as which parts were static and which were supposed to be music.

"I can't tell if that screeching is supposed to be there or not."

"Yes?"

"It's a girl, or maybe a young woman," John informed him. "She's carrying a clipboard and looking at it. She's dressed modestly, but not in a nurse's uniform. She looks nervous."

"Can I help you?"

"I feel..." Like shit, but he wasn't going to say that to a young lady. "...poorly, but thank you for asking." In the back of his mind, John grumbled about the radio and pressed another button to return it to static. "I don't suppose you have any books, or a newspaper?" He wasn't sure he was ready to try tackling one of those phone things just yet.

"...what sorts of magazines?"

He lived in Massachusetts. The only thing he cared to know about crabs was that they were delicious.

"Time and National Geographic would be good, thank you." At least he'd heard of them. "And sure. I suppose." It seemed odd of her to ask. "You're supposed to, aren't you?"

"Yes," Arthur confirmed. "I'm sleeping as well as ever, really." Which was to say, badly, but there wasn't much else to do, so plenty.

"Do you know when I'll be able to leave here?"

"Not that we have anywhere to go," John pointed out, but Arthur ignored him.

"It's Lester, please. Arthur Lester." He supposed if they were in a different world ninety years in the future, nobody was likely to care about suspicion of murder, even if they could find out who he was. "I suppose I'll ask Dr. Halstead, then."

"Thank you, Miss Hazlett." Arthur nodded in her direction.
