Was Stabby still a pirate crab-tain? Well, he didn't have a hat and an eyepatch anymore, so probably not.

What he did have was a needle.

"Why."

"Vaccinations," one of the nurses replied. At Will's flat stare, they 'elaborated': "Stabbinations."

"The crab is absolutely not vaccinating anyone for anything," Will said firmly, and went to go check on their patient.

Stark did not want any stabbinations, thank you. He did want to stop in and check on the mysterious patient though so he stopped off at the clinic while out wandering the island that morning.

"Is he doing alright?" Stark asked Will when he stopped at the desk. "Any better?"

“Stable,” Will reported. “He woke up not too long ago, if you want to go see for yourself.”

“Hey,” Travis greeted. “How’s the patient? I found some of his thing over on the causeway where he showed up.”

“Improving. Better than yesterday. I’m sure he’d appreciate you bringing his things by, or you can leave them with me and I’ll give them to him.” He didn’t know Travis well enough to tell if he was one of those types who maintained a professional distance from patients.

“Great! I’ll swing in and say hi.”

Did he check back in on everyone he rescued? Not typically. But Fandom didn’t have that many people to rescue on a regular basis, and odds were this guy would be sticking around, so Travis was checking in.

Liz was feeling a bit nervous about her check up but Prompto was here and he was going to be able to be there with her.

So she approached the front desk, “hi,” she said softly.

And, sure enough, wincing just a little behind his sunglasses until they stepped inside, Prompto was there with Liz. He hung back a little, out of awkwardness and his own nervousness, because, even though he wasn't the one coming in for a check-up, this was definitely something that was going to solidify the reality of it all in his head. No plausible deniability, no being convinced it was all some kind of dream. This was it. This was really a thing that was happening.

And that was a lot.

And he wasn't even the one carrying the baby!

“Hey, you two,” Will greeted. “Good to see you back,” he added to Prompto. Not that he’d known him like, at all, really, but him being back was clearly good for Liz, so.

Liz smiled and looked back at Prompto, offering out her hand for him to take if he’d like.

She turned back to Dr. Halstead, “it’s been a busy month,” she admitted, between the two week period where she had been crying and not eating a lot and then Prompto coming back.

She knew she hadn’t been taking care of herself as well as she could have been.

Currently occupied by someone who unfortunately fell back asleep before he could give his name.

Which was just as well, really, from Arthur's point of view. As far as he knew, he was still wanted in Arkham for either questioning or murder.

He woke up feeling a little less out of it today, listened for a moment, then murmured, "John?"

"Yes, Arthur, we're alone at the moment. And we're still in the hospital. From the light, it seems to be midmorning. There have been a few nurses by, and that doctor is still here somewhere. This place looks different than the last hospital we were in, but not in a bad way. It's...brighter. Sleeker."

"Well, Harper's Hill was a small town. Maybe we're in a bigger city now. I think I remember...did he say Maryland?"

"Yes. Some place called Fandom Island."

Arthur shook his head. "I've never heard of it."

"And you would know better than I. He also specified Earth, which is a bit worrying."

"You think it means he knows about the Dreamlands? Or that we came from there?"

"I don't know, Arthur. We'll have to be careful."

Arthur nodded. He shifted in the bed and grimaced at the feel of the cast. "Particularly since it doesn't look like I'm going anywhere fast."

“Knock knock,” Travis said, doing that obnoxious thing where people said it while knocking on the door. Which was at least a step up from only saying it and not actually knocking.

"Oh. Hello." Arthur nodded in the direction of the door.

"This is the strange man from yesterday," John told Arthur. "The one with half a mask."

"Hello," Arthur answered, trying not to sound as wary as he was.

The mystery patient hadn’t been awake last time Will had checked in on him, but he looked awake and alert now as Will poked his head in the room.

“Good to see you up,” he said, with a smile.

"It's the doctor, Arthur," John informed him.

"Doctor. Yes, thank you. I appreciate what you've done for me."

Exam Two

"Right," Will said with a grin, once Liz was settled. "Today we'll get our first good look at the little one."

Liz smiled, “I can’t believe we’ll be able to get our first look at her,” she said happily, really glad she would be able to share this moment with Prompto.

Prompto was going to need just a moment to catch up, almost automatically taking Liz's offered hand as they followed Will back to the exam room, his mind reeling a little bit to the tune of shit, shit, shit, do I know this guy?, which he suspected he'd be feeling a lot, especially with people he probably hadn't interacted with much even back when he was here, and the awkwardness that came with the fact that everyone around here had far less time to work with than he had.

And then once they got to the room, the realization of what this was all going to entail swooping in. "Heh," the breath of the laugh was a little nervous, though he was doing his best not to sound that way (or panicked; definitely feeling a little bit of panic along with it now, too) with his crooked grin. "Yeah. That's...that's pretty wild..."

Pretty wild felt like an understatement, considering not even a week ago, he hadn't even known there'd be anything like this to be having a first look at....It hadn't even been a week!

They'd met, but 'know' was a bit of a stretch. And Will had at least had his own experience with time moving faster back home than here, though for him it had been months in Chicago and weeks here.

It didn't take long to get the ultrasound up and running, and then look, guys, baby!

Will was just going to hang back and make some notes in the chart regarding fetal growth and whatnot, let the two of them have a moment.
