Fandom Clinic; Thursday [08/18].

Proving that maybe it wouldn't be such a terrible thing after all if more people around here got sick or injured, just to give the clinic staff something more to do, one of the nurses came in that day, incredibly proud of something she made, although why she made it was anyone's guess.

"I call it an apple crab," she said, looking terribly proud of herself.

But Libby just shook her head. "No, that's obviously a crab-apple."

Which was why that nurse was now giving Libby disparaging looks, and Libby simply could not bring herself to feel even remotely bad about it, because it was right there! Come on, now.

The Clinic is open!

Where there are two crabs, one in the tank, and one made of apples.

Well, three if you count the nurse who can't take constructive criticism, too.

It was a little later in the day than usual when Kurt stopped by the clinic.

"Hey Libby! How's it going?"

Ignore the little lingering whisps of purple smoke around him. He had totally not ported over and rushed in, worried about being too late.

Libby had not been contemplating whether it was rude to eat a claw of the crab-apple in front of Stabby when Kurt came in, don't be ridiculous--

"Hi, Kurt," she smiled as she shifted her attention his way, finding a smile that pushed past the embarrassment for having been just sort of daydreaming a little. "It's going pretty quiet, really, but that's probably a good thing. How are you?"

"Probably for the best....really."

Kurt gave Libby a smile that was not at all shy...dont be silly!

"Sorry I didn't have a chance to make a big meal. I've been kinda busy with making plans to go home for a visit during the break. But....I did make some cookies last night. There's apple cider cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies."

Kurt handed the bag over to Libby with a small smile. "I hope you like them."

"I'm sure they're wonderful," Libby assured him, smiling back as she took the bag, and she meant it, too! Kurt's food had yet to disappoint, although she did feel a little twist of guilt. She definitely didn't want him to feel like he was obligated to feed her or anything, as much as she loved it when he stopped by. She felt the food was always just kind of a bonus, anyway. "And a good reason to be busy, too! I know you've been talking about going back home for a while now..."

She tried to tamp down that little spark of envy she felt at that, too, knowing how complicated it would be if she were to try and do the same for herself, but, thankfully, there were cookies to distract her, and she opened the bag and breathed in the smell of them appreciatively before offering it back out to Kurt so he could take some, too.

Nawww no need to feel guilty. Kurt loved cooking for friends. It was one of the 'normal' things he was good at so it was nice to be able to do that for others.

"Yeah, I think it will be good to go and see everyone, even just for a long weekend or something. Need to make sure I have time to visit home too, not just the Academy."

Kurt reached for one of the cookies and took a bite as he considered Libby for a moment, his expression going a little sad.

"You... you have any plans for the break?" He intentionally didn't ask if she was going home. Kurt didn't know details but from what all Libby had told him here and there, he figured a trip home probably wasnt at the top of the to-do list during the term break.

Libby was a good Christian girl, though. That meant pretty much feeling guilty about nearly everything.

And Libby's expression was a little sad, too, as she fished out a cookie for herself and set down the bag, but she tried to hide it behind a small smile. Her shoulders shrugged a little. "Mostly just staying here, I guess," she said, which wasn't actually true, she just didn't know it yet. "Good chance to catch up on some of my work here, I suppose."

Maybe she could figure out something to go visit Zo; that could be nice, and relatively unproblematic. She knew the Forresters would be happy to have her, but it could put them in an awkward position, and she'd put them in enough of those already...

"Well it's not that long of a break at least" Kurt offered. "I can write or call if you want, let ya know what crazy stuff the team and I get into while I'm gone."

"Or I could let you know what sorts of crazy stuff you might be missing here," Libby pointed out with a little bit of a grin.

"But..." Her head ducked a little, a blush slowly spreading across her face as she tucked her hair behind one of her ears, "a call would be nice. Or..." She looked up again. "Do you have that Facetime thing? Zo and I use that a lot, it's nice, because you can see the other person, too. And you could show me around, without me even needing to be there!"

"Aye I do have it!" Kurt said breaking into a big grin. "That is a great idea, Libby. The Professor made me get it as that is how he likes to check in on me. So we can definitely find some time for it."

Kurt paused a moment and gave Libby a small shy grin of his own.

"And this is Fandom after all. Who knows, you might have a bigger adventure here than I will back home!"

"Hopefully nothing too exciting, though," said Libby, after a moment to beam a little proudly at the compliment while she took a bite of her cookie. "It wouldn't really be the same, if you weren't around for it, too..."

And now it would be Kurt turn to flush a bit.. provided that could be easily seen and all. Instead he just worked on the cookie a bit before responding.

"How are things with Zo by the way?"

"Oh, she's mad at me roght now," Libby reported, with the sort of laugh that suggested she wasn't really. "Because, not only did I get to turn into an animal for a week, but because I neglected to get any pictures of it for her. She's threatening not to believe me until I provide photographic evidence."

"Ah well, I'm sure she will get over it. Can always show her pics of me as a sugar glider! I've got a few and I know Guillermo took some as well" Kurt added with a laugh.

"I'm not sure she'll accept that as proof," Libby admitted, with another laugh, "but it wouldn't hurt to try! If anything, I don't think anyone could take issue with cute pictures of sugar gliders."

No crabs here! Yet!

Hopefully it stays that way!
