Fandom Clinic; Thursday [07/07[.
Of course, by now, one of Libby's favorite things about Thursday was that it meant she got to go to the clinic, and not only do some of her nursing prep work, but she'd also get to check in with Stabby. It was very quickly becoming a highlight of the week for her, which probably said more about it not taking much at all to make her happy than it did about anything else.
She was a little surprised, though, to see that someone had put a book (meta forTreasure Island, apparently, which she thought was a very nice touch) in the tank with Stabby, which meant he was mostly just crawling over it and ripping pages out with his claws rather than turning them.
"Should he really have that in there?" Libby eventually, doubtfully, asked, because it just didn't seem like a great idea overall, but maybe that's why she was going to be a human nurse and not a vet.
"How else is he going to learn how to read?" the nurse asked, with a slightly haughty tone that Libby didn't really appreciate, especially since, well....she'd helped with teaching plenty of Little how to read through the years, and she knew it took a lot more than just throwing in a book and hoping they figured it out.
She did have to admit, though, that she didn't know how to teach crabs to read, just people, but she figured that was what the Internet was for, right?
And even though she'd braced herself for some....interesting results, considering her last search for crab-related information, she was not expecting to get blocked.
"'Teaching crabs how to read,'" Libby read, squinting at the screen and the message that popped up, "is considered forbidden knowledge...?"
With that, she gave a wary glance toward Stabby's tank, and even warier glance toward the nurse, and, feeling like she was doing this for the sake of everyone involved, was going to extract that book from Stabby's tank as soon as the nurse in question wasn't around.
