There Libby was, at the front desk, as usual, mostly minding her own business and hard at work writing down answers to questions in one of her workbooks, when one of the nurses came up to her and handed her a small container of some kind of yellow, melted liquid.

Libby frowned a little as she took it, turning it over and considering a plethora of potential medical possibilities, before finally looking back at the nurse and asking, "What is it?"

"Butter," the nurse informed her, simple as can be, but that only seemed to confuse Libby more.

"Butter for what?"

And that question was met with one of those sympathetic, indulgent looks that some of them often gave Libby whenever she missed some particular little social detail that most people from more worldly upbringings took for grants.

"For the crab, of course."

It was an answer that left Libby so bewildered that the nurse had wandered off to tend to one task or another before she could even think to ask, calling after her, "What crab?"

....actually, you know what? Libby was pretty sure this was a situation where her ignorance was definitely bliss.
