Martha had been very grateful for the quiet of the clinic yesterday. They hadn't had many zombies come to try to get in - the nurses had been quite fierce, and Martha could only imagine that word had spread - and the lack of patients had made Martha start to wonder if they'd get through this whole thing with everyone being all right. It was amazing that she still had some optimism left in her, but there it was.

"My knee," she said, propping it up. Oh, wow, it looked like a mess. "It popped and cracked and then I fell on it and it doesn't ... work. Romeo had to ..."

The vague wave of her hand was supposed to cover things like "practically carry me here while I bled on him."

"Thanks?" she said, glancing over at him. "Sorry and -- all that? I'll be fine. Promise."

"Yes, you will be fine," Martha said. "I'm not going to have you come all the way here just to end up worse. I'll get your knee cleaned up and wrapped - that should get you started on feeling a little better. I'll see if I can get you something for the pain as well."
