FTEC, Wednesday, April 1

Once she'd made sure that the exam rooms were clean and the inventory was still as stocked as it should have been, Martha let herself get settled in behind the desk, and started flipping through the news stations, trying to find one that she could stand to watch for more than a few minutes at a time.

Tony thought about it. "Maybe," he said. "If the portal wasn't totally closed. Or maybe they had a way to reopen it - though that's probably too complicated for zombies. You don't think they're, like, smart zombies, do you?"

"Oh God I hope not." Dinah shuddered, then slowly shook her head. "They didn't seem all that smart. Just 'miiiine', 'braaaains', and 'rawwwww'." She shook her head. "I mean, maybe that sounds judgmental based on how someone talks, but they also didn't get out of the way of the trash can I threw at them."

"How you talk says a lot about you," Tony pointed out. That's why Henry had spent so much time getting the street out of Tony's speech. "We can worry about where they came from later, though. Let's get you guys home safe first."

Priestly came out of the exam room with his shoulders hunched and his eyes down, his now-wrapped arm held close to his body. He squinted a little against the light.

Concussions sucked ass.

"Priestly!" Dinah hopped to her feet, then hurried over to him. "How are you? Are you good to go back to the dorm?"

"Yeah." Priestly decided he wasn't going to nod or shake his head again for a little while. "Concussion. And, uh." He held up his arm. "Sprain. I'm okay."

"Tony brought a rickshaw," Dinah said, trying to be cheerful. "We can get the heck outta here as soon as you want." She reached over to pat his arm, then kind of reached for a hug. "Really glad you're okay," she mumbled.

Priestly hugged her back, holding on tight with his good arm. "Thanks to you."

Okay, that might be clinging. Just a little bit. "Right. Right." Dinah squeezed him, then backed off a bit. "Do you need meds? Or can we just go?" She looked over at Tony. "We'll speeeeed home, right?"

Priestly looked up and flashed Tony a weak smile. "Yeah, I think we can go. Guess we'll have to postpone the hot chocolate."

"Fastest rickshaw ever," Tony told Dinah as he went to Priestly's side. He didn't touch the other guy - they weren't really on hugging terms - but he stood close enough to catch Priestly if he looked like he was wobbling, yet hopefully far enough that he wasn't intruding on personal space. "We could make shakes?" he offered. "I think there's some ice cream in the second floor freezer."

"I like this plan," Dinah said, looking hopeful, arm still around Priestly as they made their way out. "If you don't want to crash yet, Priestly? Maybe you want to just rest, though, totally up to you, I don't know how bad your head hurts." She winced looking up at it, remembering the sound of it hitting concrete.

His head hurt kind of a lot, but Priestly wasn't going to say 'no' to that hopeful look. "Shakes." He was still a little on the unsteady side, and definitely still kind of freaked. Hanging around with other non-undead people sounded like a good plan. "We can do that."
