Having made himself a large pot of tea that might possibly last all day, Simon settled behind the desk. He had been a little distracted lately, but catching up on the new medical journal should no doubt help with that.

No, he was still distracted and needed another pot of tea.

After last night's...problem...and way too many hours watching horrifying television advertisements, Biff finally decided to suck it up and go ask the doctor for a hand.

Um, not literally.

"Excuse me," he said politely. "I need some drugs."

Simon looked up, a little surprised. "Drugs? Are you feeling unwell?"

"Yes," Biff said. "I haven't been able to...um..." he gestured in a generally below-the-belt way, "in almost a week."

"Oh!" Simon was a doctor, he could talk about these things in a medical way, as long as it had nothing to do with him. "A week, you say? And have you noticed any other changes in during this time?"

Biff shook his head. "No. I was fine on Sunday. Last night...not so much."

"Since Monday then. But that's, what? Four days?" The man must truly be desperate or have a very demanding partner. Simon tried not to think about that. "Um, have you been under stress recently? Consumed larger quantities of alcohol or other drugs?"

Biff shook his head again. "Other than the stress of things not working, no."

"And that is very stressful for you?" Simon had to ask.

Biff gave him a "duh" look. "Little bit."

"And is your partner being understanding about this?" It could certainly make things worse if they weren't.

It had been Loki, so...not particularly.

"Ish," Biff allowed.

Had Simon known it was Loki he would have suggested Biff would consider choosing better partners in the future. Well, he would have wanted to suggest that, but would probably have been too embarrassed.

"A bad response can cause anxiety and make it worse," Simon informed him. "Do you sleep well? Eat properly? How do experience your situation apart from this... problem?"

Biff ate Hot Pockets, bacon, pizza and beer. He thought that was completely healthy. "Sex is kind of a hobby, doctor," Biff said. "I've never had a problem before this week. Ever. Evereverever."

Because more evers made it more convincing.

Simon smiled a little. "Well, four days is hardly a long time," he said. "I suggest you try to relax a little and don't pressure yourself about it. If it presists you can come back and we can do a complete medical check-up."

Biff nodded. "Okay. Hopefully I won't be seeing you soon. Thanks!"

"Good luck!" Simon replied, almost cheerful, hoping he didn't blush when he thought about what he was actually wishing the man good luck for.

Was it just him or were the nurses unusually snarky today?
