FTEC, Wednesday [10/15]

Martha knew that she should write up a report to UNIT about the past weekend. Random comas? People coming back from the dead? Vampyres wyth badde maykeup? It was all exactly the sort of thing they'd want to know about - except it meant that Martha would have to explain what happened to her as well, and there was no way she was doing that anywhere in a file that either Jack or the Doctor could potentially someday get their hands on. This past weekend would have to be one event that never got recorded.

The Doctor was there in the afternoon, hands in pockets as he looked around and did his mock best to look inconspicuous. Then he leaned against the front desk.

"Keeping busy with," he looked down to see what she was up to. "Work stuff?"

The Doctor looked like he was trying to smother himself with his hand. Thankfully it didn't last too long. "No, I think I'll survive without medical attention this once. I've been all over time and space and still nothing is as inexplicable as this island. I don't know of anyone that wasn't affected. Anything interesting happen in the melodramatic life of Doctor Martha Jones this weekend?"

The Doctor raised an eyebrow, but didn't push. What happened on the weekend stayed on the weekend. Thank goodness. "That's something," he agreed. "So you're fitting in then. Running a clinic. Being a physician. Putting band-aids on skinned knees and dealing with the occasional head trauma. Settling down, even."

"Ohh," the Doctor protested. "I wouldn't call it settling so much as," he took in a deep breath while he tried to think of an excuse, "keeping myself busy while I try to work out why a place that simply cannot exist actually exists. Plus, I stop in the one place for a while from time to time during episodes when there's something interesting to hold my attention. Plus I duck out during the week, take a whirl around the galaxy and come back to poke around. You know me and things I can't explain."
