FTEC, Wednesday [09/24]

Things seemed to have gotten quieter as the week went on, and Martha certainly wasn't going to complain. In fact, she wasn't going to say anything at all, fearing that the whole place would go crazy again and it would be all her fault.

Instead, she was checking on the clinic's last remaining patient, and trying to figure out how she was going to explain the island moving again to UNIT. Random enemies from another universe. That was going to go over so well.

For he who is still hurt, woe!

Roy was virtually hopping to get out of the clinic. Virtually as actual hopping sounded painful and if he risked the wounds opening up again, there was a rather big chance he wasn't going to leave today. Chances were that exam room two was practically radiating impatience, though, he could be distracted by a pretty nurse... If Aly didn't notice.

After setting her report aside for the moment, Martha went in to check on Roy and was pleased to see him awake. "Hey there," she said in greeting. "How are you feeling?"

"About ready to go home?" he tried eagerly. It probably wasn't a surprise. "No offence to the lovely company."

Aly snorted, looking amused. "You say that now."

Martha laughed, and went ahead with checking Roy's vitals. "You're certainly looking better," she said. "And you seem to be healing up. That's always a good sign."

"So I get to go home?" he guessed, still looking hopeful.

"Yes, you can go home," Martha said. "But I want you to take it easy. Your wounds are still very sensitive. You have to promise me that'll you'll rest and that if you get hurt again, you'll either come back here, or let yourself be dragged back here."

Aly nodded sharply. "I'll make sure of it," she said, eyeing Roy and looking perfectly capable of knocking him out and carrying him to the clinic.

Roy eyed Aly right back, somehow having a bad feeling about this. "I wouldn't dream of arguing with that," he said easily. He would, but he probably wouldn't win it.

"Good. Very smart decision," Martha said. "Then you're free to go and keep us all safe for another day."

"Best thing I've heard all day," Roy said eagerly, already starting to get up... Slowly.

"Just today?" Aly smirked, ready to give Roy a hand the moment he faltered or looked like he might possibly need one.

"And hopefully many days after today as well," Martha replied, fully prepared to revoke her release if Roy looked too shaky.

He was aware of the scrutiny which was why he was moving carefully, making sure he could calculate his moves as he got to his feet. "Not that I will turn down further good news," he commented.

"How about the good news of a rickshaw ride directly to your apartment and back to bed with you?" Aly teased, grinning at Martha.

"That sounds like very good news to me," Martha said, grinning as she watched them both.

Roy eyed them both. "I suggest you both go for coffee some time in the week," he said. "You seem to get on very well."

"Only if you promise to take it easy while I'm gone," Aly shot back, looking amused. She looked at Martha. "The least I could do is buy you a cup of coffee and a pastry."

"That's not necessary," Martha said. "But I could probably use the time away from here."

"Not staying cooped up in a clinic is always a good thing," Roy agreed, more than eager to get out.

Aly snorted at the hint and gathered the bag of things that had accumulated in the exam room. "I'll call you about it then," she said with a smile to Martha then tilted her head at Roy. "Take it you're more than ready to go?"

"Yes," he said eagerly before giving Martha an apologetic look. "Nothing personal, I swear."

"No offense taken, I assure you. I hope you feel much better," Martha said.

"I'm sure I will," he said instantly. "Thank you."
