FTEC - Thursday - 18.09

Igor was deeply uneasy as he opened the clinic this morning, and he spent a great deal of time making sure everything he might need was ready to go.

He'd seen no sign of them - yet - but it felt like the flaming torches had arrived.

Igor was moving from exam room to exam room, checking everything was in order.

Molly came limping into the clinic, holding her hand to her right hip. Her jeans were covered in blood. "Um. I think maybe I need stitches?"

Igor came out of the exam room, assessed her with one professional glance. "Yeth," he agreed, almost cheerfully. "At the very leatht." The lisp tended to come back at times like this. He hurried over to her. "Come into the exam room, tho we can get you fixed up."

She was too busy staring to argue, and followed Igor without comment.

Igor handed her a slightly luminous green drink once they were in the exam room, and motioned her to sit on the bed. "This will take the pain away," he explained.

"Um, okay?" She took the drink and sipped at it gingerly, then leaned against the bed, with her butt facing Igor. "I'm not sure I can sit."

"Drink it all up," he urged, turning back to her with a pair of scissors. "If you can't thit, hold very thtill. I'm going to have to cut the thide of your jeanth to get to your wound. How did you get hurt?" He didn't really care how it had happened, he was only interested in fixing it, but distracted people were easier to work on.

Molly sniffed skeptically, then drank, figuring her day couldn't get much worse. "I, uh, got skewered by a really angry, psychotic unicorn that wanted to eat me." Okay, maybe not that last part.

That was not what he'd expected. He actually paused. "Interethting," he mused and began carefully snipping the waistband of her jeans, cutting down to meet the slash the unicorn had left. Igor set down the scissors and folded back the cloth. "It'th horn wath very tharp, which is good. I'm going to clean thith and stitch it, and you'll be ath good as new."

"Promise?" She asked, giving a less than delicate burp. Ooooh, the pain was gone. That was nice.

"It won't even leave a thcar." He began to clean it. "Unleth you want one?"

It said something that she actually considered it, but she wasn't sure what. "No, but thank you for offering."

"Igorth prefer scarth," he explained, though it was probably obvious, given he was covered in them. He quickly finished cleaning the wound, fetched needle and thread, and began to neatly and efficiently stitch it shut. "Thith won't take long."

"Take as long as you want," she told him, smiling as she peeked over her shoulder. "It's all good."

The nurses were alert and quiet -- Igor may have spent a little too much time impressing on them that he had a Bad Feeling.

His shift was over, but he hadn't gone far.
