The clinic was open, and Christian was flipping through the channels on the lobby TV, looking for something to watch. Nothing but talk shows and soaps and reality shows. You couldn't pay him to be on a reality show.

Thursday was sitting up today, albeit awkwardly. "Doctor?" she called, hoping to get discharged. She'd had enough of hospitals to last her a life time. Bullet wounds too.

Christian heard Thursday and soon appeared in the doorway. "How are you feeling today?" he asked.

"Well, I was shot," she was still having a hard time believing it had happened again, "but fairly good considering. I'm still tired, but whatever the doctor on duty did the night I was brought in has worked better than any treatment I've had before at home."

"I read your chart," Christian said, nodding. "Ordinarily I'd want to keep you for a few more days for a bullet wound like that, but Ronan's magic mojo seems to have fixed you up better than surgery. Just take it easy for a few days, and don't do anything strenuous with the arm."

Thursday nodded. "I'm under the watchful eye of a very determined library aide who I suspect would physically haul me back here were I to do anything too strenuous," she remarked with amusement. "But on a serious note, Doogie is just across the hall, so if I need anything, I'll be sure to check in with him."

"All right, you're free to go then," Christian said. "If you feel any pain or notice any swelling, come back and get it checked out."
