Fandom Clinic: Monday Evening

Katara was Not Thinking about her class today.  Not at all.  Really.

Which was why she was poking through the clinic's literature on birth control. 

Who knows, one day she might get married and need to know this stuff.

"Of course! What's going on?" Katara asked immediately. "And you still get a sucker for the visit because it counts."

Chad smiled a little; he was glad it still counted. Not because he wanted to avoid visiting Katara, because he'd stop by again some time for a real visit, but just because she would think that. "Well, would you mind cat-sitting for me? Teddy and me kind of...you know..." He didn't feel it necessary to finish the sentence; it's not like Katara wouldn't be able to figure it out. Especially once he noticed what was keeping her occupied during her shift.

Her smile only dropped for a second when she nodded and tried really hard not to blush at the implication in connection to what she'd just been reading. "Sure. As long as you think he'll be happy in the clinic here?"

Chad looked over at the still-sleeping naked kitten on his shoulder. "I'm sure he'll be fine. I mean, even if he wakes up, he's very easily entertained. And he was complaining that he doesn't get to see you more the other day, anyway."

Or Prince Oscar Pedro had just been hungry at that moment, but Chad was sure he understood him otherwise.

Katara grinned and held her hands out for the kitten. "Funny, cause he told me the other day that he loves you waaaaay more than any one else," she teased. "But we have cat toys here." Or she could make some. One or the other.

Chad gave Katara a skeptical look. Not that anyone could see it, because it was entirely in his eyebrows and his eyebrows were well hidden by his hair, but it was still there. "'Course he said that. 'Cause it's true. But," he very carefully went to move Prince Oscar Pedro so that he wouldn't wake up; he squirmed a little, and let out a big yawn, but, other than that, he remained undisturbed as he was handed to Katara, "he can't spend all of his time with Otō-san Chado, you know."

She looked up at Chad as she cuddled the kitten close to her. "Oto-san?"

It was good she was questioning cause otherwise she might have been less apt for the cuddling of the rat-cat.

Even half asleep, Prince Oscar Pedro purred when cuddled. It was like a condition.

"Japanese," Chad explained, "for father. He likes Japanese better."

"Awwww," she couldn't help grinning down at Prince Oscar Pedro and scratching his head gently. "He's a good, smart kitten."

Katara looked back up at Chad. "I'll keep him safe. You should shoo cause I bet Teddy's waiting."

Chad's shoulders straightened with pride as Prince Oscar Pedro lazily curled up against Katara, and then he nodded. "Right. Thanks, Katara...."

"You're welcome, just remember to come visit me another time," she teased.

"I will," Chad nodded. "Don't care what you say; this doesn't count."

She laughed, trying not to disturb the kitten. "Okay, if you insist."

Chad nodded, and then lifted a hand in a wave goodbye and slipped out the door with another "Thank you."
