FTEC - Wednesday Day Shift 9/12

Between getting grabbed by squirrels last night and an early clinic shift this morning, Wilson was dragging as he headed into the FTEC.

His eyes also hurt like hell from reading wee tiny squirrel scribbles and so he didn't even pretend to do anything other than sit behind the desk with his head on his arms while he stared at the large coffee he'd picked up at the Perk.

He was hoping the coffee would some how come out of the cup and seep through his eyeballs into his brain. You know, sort of like when Lassie always comes to save little Timmy?

...

Yeah, he might have needed a nap.

Aww. The sight of the sleepy doctor at his desk, trying to will coffee into his system, was almost enough to make Aziraphale feel guilty about needling Wilson over the radio broadcast.

Almost.

Pulling up a chair, the angel leaned his arms on the desk so that he was in Wilson's line of sight. "Buttercups?" he said, lips twitching in a smile.

Good thing Aziraphale was too proper to pass along that kind of information to a certain Adversary.

Or was he?

"Did you drink squirrel rum last night, love?" the angel chuckled.

Oh no! Not the Wilson pout!

Aziraphale glared at the obstinate cup of coffee.

"Well that wasn't very neighborly of Mr Deadpool. Perhaps I may have to have a chat with him about sharing."

He gave Wilson's foot a little nudge. "You might have better luck if you drink some of it, love."

Aziraphale reached out and brushed his fingers through the young doctor's hair. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that Wilson had a duty to his clinic shift, he'd have rousted the man out and sent him home.

"You know, you could have a bit of a nap, and I'll just sit here and keep an eye out for anyone who shows up. If they do, then I'll wake you. After all, if there's no one here who actually needs help, there's no reason you can't rest a bit."

He wanted to give Wilson a little bit of a boost, but he also didn't want to get a lecture once his lover was awake.

With a soft chuckle, Aziraphale ruffled the young doctor's hair and then shifted his chair so that he had a good view of the door.

And perhaps provided something of a screen so that Wilson could sleep undisturbed.
