The clinic was quiet so far in the morning. No one had come in with book release party-related injuries, and Christian was doing the weekly paperwork.

Nope, no book party injuries for Mary, just lingering saber-toothed kitty ones. Since she was actually able to stay awake today, Mary thought that she should drop by for a follow-up visit.

"Mary," Christian greeted her with a smile. "What can I do for you today?"

"Hi Christian," said Mary, smiling back. "I'm just worried about having a permanent scar on my leg from the tiger's claw marks."

"I'm not one of those girls who worries about how she looks, but I'd at least like to go to the beach without everyone looking at this huge scar on my leg," said Mary. She should have remembered that most people wouldn't have noticed since they'd be staring at her chest.

"I remember seeing your name when I reviewed the clinic records of the dinosaur invasion," Christian said. "Let me go get your file. Why don't you just take off your pants or skirt and hop up on the table. There's a sheet right there to cover up with." He left the room to give Mary a little privacy, though he rather would've watched her strip, of course.

Mary slipped out of her jeans, got on the table and covered herself up with the sheet, wishing that she hadn't worn lace panties today.

Christian returned a few moments later, flipping through Mary's file. "Ronan treated you?" he said. "How'd the kid do?"

"I think he did a pretty good job, but I have to admit that I don't remember much of Saturday or Sunday," said Mary.

"Not unusual with a concussion," Christian said, setting aside the file and moving to the side of the exam table. He pushed the sheet up over Mary's legs. If he caught sight of the lace panties, he didn't give an external reaction, but there may have been a mental "Rowr." "How has your head been?" he went on. "Any dizziness or blurred vision?"

"A little bit, but not for the past couple of days," said Mary. "At least it gave me a chance to catch up on my sleep."

"Good," Christian said, nodding as he unwrapped the bandages and examined Mary's leg. "It looks like it's healing nicely. I don't have much experience with magical healing, but it's looking good. No signs of infection. Don't let it dry out and scab over. Keep it covered and treated with Neosporin or something similar, and don't let it get exposed to sunlight, and you should be fine. If there is any scarring, I can remove it later with a laser."

"So I can pretty much rule out working on my tan for a while?" joked Mary.

"It would be a good idea," Christian said. "Although I would recommend massage of the injured area. It helps prevent scarring."

"Massage?" asked Mary innocently. Another trip to the spa wasn't such a bad idea.

"It's probably too tender now," Christian said, pressing his fingers lightly along the wound in Mary's leg. "But once the new skin has formed, massaging the area will break down the collagen which causes scars."

"I did not know that," said Mary, intrigued. "Guess you learn something new every day." In the meantime, she tried to ignore how her skin tingled underneath Christian's fingertips.

"I'd be happy to show you how," Christian said smoothly. "I know a wide variety of techniques."

Christian let his fingers linger on Mary's leg. "It's just a matter of keeping the skin supple," he said. "These hands won't leave a scar. You'll be very satisfied with my talents."

Mary had questioned for a moment whether or not he was coming onto her, but now she was certain. And after being labeled a lemon by Barney Stinson, she had no problem with it.

"I hope so, because I'd really hate to have a scar to remind me of that horrible ordeal," she said with a flirtatious smile.

"Since I'm living at your hotel, it would be absolutely no problem for me to drop by and make sure you're tended to," Christian said, finally drawing his hand away so he could re-bandage Mary's leg with fresh gauze. He took his time with that, of course.

"I'll do that," Christian said, grinning. He finished wrapping up Mary's leg and drew the sheet back down -- just a little reluctantly, and with another sneaking glance at the lace panties.
