Doogie was happy to find the clinic fairly quiet again, and settled in for an evening of alternating between catching up on the stack of medical journal articles he wanted to read, and checking in on Gwynn.

Gwynn was laying on the bed, trying to make the pain go away so she could get up again. Someone had taken her shoes, so she would have to make do without them. So, as soon as she heard the nice young doctor walk out of the rom...

... there was Gwynn trying to sit up and she was slowly swinging her legs over the edge of the bed.

And here was Conner coming back from a necessary shower-and-errands run, with food in hand.

Of course, this made it a little difficult for him to get the exam room door open right away, so he was standing outside, trying to hold bags in his teeth and wedge drinks between his arm and his side, and this stuff shouldn't be so hard, should it?

Gwynn flailed a little and quickly got herself back on the bed correctly and under the sheets. Of course, this hurt, but at least he wouldn't know she had tried to escape again.

When Conner finally got the door open, he stumbled over to put everything down on the corner table and glanced over at Gwynn.

"You cannot possibly be in that much pain just from lying there, can you?"
