Christian was getting pissed about the patients building up in the clinic. He hated seeing kids get hurt, and he hoped somebody would catch this masked maniac in the woods. And, okay, maybe being angry would cover the fact that masked maniac with a knife was making him freak out, just a little. But the Carver couldn't be in Fandom, right?

The doctor is in.

Tori entered the clinic, not sure if she wanted to see just how badly her friends had been hurt. But she was there to make sure they were okay and give them support. So that's what she was going to do.

"Can I help you?" Christian asked when Tori came in.

"I was wondering if I could see Gwynn and Phoebe?" Tori inquired. She was worried about her friends. Very worried.

Christian nodded. "Ms. Halliwell is in Exam Two, and Ms. Hood is in Exam One."

"Thank you." Tori smiled slightly and headed for Gwynn's room first.

On his way out of Gwynn's room, Conner stopped at the front desk. "How many people have gotten hurt?" he asked bluntly.

"We've had five patients related to something in the woods," Christian said. "And one other young woman who had to get stitches on her arm, but the nurse wasn't clear about how it happened."

"Five?" Conner repeated incredulously. "Five people this week and nobody's evacuated the campsite yet? What the hell?"

Yes, Conner just said 'hell.' You know he's pissed.

"Talk to the school and the police about that," Christian said. "They need to find this guy and stop him."

"Not if we get to him first," Conner said grimly, and headed out.

Gwynn was unconscious in the bed from the pain meds she had been given. This was probably a good thing since she had been determined last night to get her weapons and go after the scary guy that had attacked and hurt her.

It was pretty early in the morning when Conner, who'd fallen asleep in the chair beside Gwynn's bed, woke up from a detailed, bizarre dream in which he'd had to fight over her.

. . . as in with a sword. Against some guy who, for some strange reason, Conner was convinced had to have been an elf in a past life or something. On the deck of a ship.

It was all really, really strange.

Gwynn made a soft sound in her sleep, but didn't quite open her eyes yet. Waking up and opening her eyes meant pain would come back and that was bad.

Conner looked down at her and hesitated. He was restless and pissed off, and he really wanted to go out and find this guy or do something, but he felt bad about just leaving her alone.

"Hey." He leaned down and whispered half into her hair. "Gwynn, you gotta stay here and rest, okay? But I've gotta go do something about the guy who did this to you."

"Come back?" she mumbled groggily.

"I will." Conner kissed her lightly before standing up. "Promise. But I can't just sit here when he's still out there somewhere."

"Careful," she said.

"Will be," he promised. "Stay here and rest. I'll be back."

Gwynn smiled slightly and then was unconscious again.

Tori wanted to check in on Gwynn, see how she was doing. She stopped in the doorway, not wanting to wake her friend.

Seeing Gwynn resting made Tori feel a little better, but it also made her angry to know that someone had deliberatley hurt her.

Gwynn opened her eyes and when she saw Tori standing there she smiled at her. "Hello, Tori."

"Hey Gwynn." Tori managed a smile. "This might be a silly question but how are you?"

Gwynn didn't think it was a silly question at all.

"Sleepy. Feels like I am floating in water... and am very confused." She gave Tori a confused look. "Someone tried to kill me last night." The hurt in her eyes was evident.

Tori grimaced. She didn't like that at all.

She nodded, holding back her angry tears. "I know." Tori shook her head. "I don't know who would try such a thing, but I'm going to make sure they don't get to try again."

Gwynn nodded and managed to smile. "I know you will. I just do not understand why someone wanted to kill me, Tori. I have not done anything to anyone." She frowned. "The doctor and Conner say I am too hurt to go hunt for the person who did this." She swallowed. "Conner. Conner is upset."

"I don't either. It doesn't make any sense." Tori admitted, not liking this mystery. "No, you've been nothing but kind to everyone." She nodded. "Yeah, as much as it would pain me to hear that if our roles were reversed, you need to get better. And the more you rest, the quicker you'll be out of here and can help us take this guy down."

Tori sighed and nodded. "I imagine he is. I can talk to him, if you want? I understand why he's not happy about this. I don't think any of us are."

"He heard me screaming last night when I was attacked," Gwynn said quietly. "The guy was holding me in the air and was going to stab me in the eye." She swallowed past the fear that was coming to the surface again. She looked at her friend somberly. "I was crying Tori..."

Tori couldn't believe what she was hearing. "I'm so sorry Gwynn." It wasn't like she had anything to do with what happened, but still. No one should have to go through that. No one. "I think I would be too." Tori admitted, her voice shaking slightly.

"I am worried about Conner," Gwynn said quietly. "He is very upset."

"I'll make sure he's okay." Tori gave her a reassuring smile. "I bet he's just worried about you. He cares a lot for you, it makes sense that he'd be upset. I bet he'll be back here later to look in on you." She didn't say it, but she was intent on checking up on Conner and making sure he didn't do anything he might regret. Not that he would. It was just a precaution.

Yes, there are two beds lashed together with gauze and surgical tubing. Please wait for the patients and protective demon to tag in.

Bel was in the middle of said bed, keeping watch over Phoebe and Anders.

Phoebe had allowed herself to rest a little now that Cole was there with them where she could ~~snuggle with~~ keep a protective eye on him.

Anders had pretty much attached himself to Bel's side, and therefore slept pretty well all night.

Tori hesitated outside of Phoebe's exam room, not wanting to wake anyone up or disturb them.

She knocked lightly on the door, not wanting to barge in or anything like that. She was worried about how Phoebe was doing.

Phoebe lifted her head and smiled when she saw her friend and fellow cheerleader. "Hey, you."

"Hey you." Tori smiled back, happy to see Phoebe awake and seeminly okay. "How are you?"

"Better than I was... though I don't think I can throw anyone into the air for a little while. How are you?"

"I'm glad to hear that. I bet you'll be back to normal in no time." Tori smiled reassuringly. "I'm okay, better knowing you're okay." She admitted. It wasn't cool that her friends had been hurt.

"When I'm better, we'll get Buffy to round up the squad and we'll go after the asshole that put me in here," she said with a grin.

She hated the fact that her friends were upset and she wanted to fix it.

"Oh, I'm totally up for that." Tori smiled. "I'm sure Buffy will love that idea, too."

Yeah, a lot of it had to do with feeling helpless, too. That was never fun.
