FTEC - Saturday Evening - 4/28

After having spent most of the day curled up with Aziraphale, Wilson was still blissfully unaware that most of the island's student population was wee.

Under this sense of innocence, he headed into the clinic, checked up with the nurse and then settled in to work on crosswords for the evening, save for when Phale came down with dinner.

"I totally want a copy," Wilson said, without shame as he peered at the absolutely adorable image of a pouty wee Bel.

"How are you holding up? Err...besides, you know, trying to chase them down now?"

Anders's grin doubled in wattage. "Holding up great, sir. It's been a great past couple of weeks."

Wilson had heard enough bits and pieces and radio pod casts to have an idea of what Anders meant and he smiled with genuine pleasure at seeing the young man so happy.

"That's great news, Anders. I'm happy for you."

"While it lasts," Anders said quietly, "so am I. Thanks."

"Hey," Wilson said softly, because he didn't know all the details but he couldn't imagine any of it was easy, especially with graduation looming.

"Sometimes we have to grab the moments of happiness when we can and make them special in their fleetness. Besides, you never quite know what's going to happen."

Giving Anders a little poke, Wilson smiled. "So, as I was saying. That's great news and happy for you. Now...here is where you bounce and beam at me."

"I can totally do that," Anders said, giving him the three-thousand-watt smile again. "I'm trying not to think about the graduation thing yet. Just enjoying it while I can, you know?"

He hesitated. "I'm really glad you're not being freaky about it, too."

"I know and that's exactly what you should be doing," Wilson encouraged with a sincere smile.

He leaned back against the desk and shrugged.

"You three are responsible young adults and honestly, it's your business not anyone elses. If it works for you and it makes you happy then that's all that's important to me."

Anders smiled even more brightly at that. "It really means a lot to me that you think so, sir. I mean it."

Wilson smiled in return and reached for a piece of paper and a pen.

"Do you have a cell number? I can call you if I encounter one wee witch or a tiny demon?"

"I'd appreciate that a lot, sir," Anders said, rattling off his phone number. "I know they'll probably be okay, but I can't help worrying."

Quickly jotting the number down, he pulled off a piece of paper and wrote down his own number.

"Here's my number in case you need it and if you want, bring them by tomorrow if you feel like it might do you good to get a bit of a breather and have an extra pair or two of eyes on them. I even promise to feed everybody."

The smile on Wilson's face reached all the way up into his eyes and hopefully was enough to show Anders that it would be in no way be an imposition and that in fact Aziraphale and he would enjoy the company if Anders needed the wee break.

From the look on Anders's face, not only did he pick up on Wilson's sincerity, but he was probably pathetically grateful for the offer.

"I might have to take you up on that. They're exhausting me," he said ruefully. "If I hadn't had practice with our future kids showing up the other week, I might be insane right about now."

"I can imagine," Wilson said sympathetically as he reached over and clapped Anders on the back.

"I promise a sanity break and perhaps even the chance for a nap in the guest room if you need it."

"If there's any of my sanity left by tomorrow morning," Anders said with a grin. "I'll probably need the nap, though. And I should probably get back to looking for them, huh?"

"Probably and if I see them, I'll try to send them back up to the dorms."

Keyword there, try but Wilson figured Anders would understand that the best of intentions was little good against a wee tiny demon who could shimmer and a very cute baby witch.

"Then I guess I should wish you luck," Anders said wryly. Oh yeah, he totally understood. "Thanks again, Doctor Wilson. For everything."

"My pleasure, Anders. Good luck yourself," Wilson said with a wink.
