FTEC, Thursday Night, April 19

The clinic was nice and quiet, and Doogie was all caught up on the journal articles he'd been reading, so he decided to relax and watch TV while waiting to see if anyone came in.

"Hey," Doogie said, putting the TV on mute and peering across the front desk. "Can I help you?"

The cursed teenager edged in and showed Doogie his cast. "I broke my arm Saturday, and cracked a couple ribs, too. A doctor already looked at them, but I'm not sure if the pain meds are strong enough. It's been bothering me since Monday."

"Ouch." Doogie winced sympathetically. "I can give you something stronger, to get you through the next few days. How'd you hurt yourself?"

Doogie had enough experience to recognize when there was a story a patient probably didn't want to tell, so he just nodded for the moment. "Have you done anything that might have made your injuries worse? You should be taking it pretty easy."

Kyo relaxed. "I'm not doing any excercise, and I'm trying to write with my left hand. So, yeah, I'd say I'm taking it easy."

"Good. Keep doing that for a while. You'll feel much better if you rest." Doogie handwavily found what medicine Kyo had gotten before and dug through the other medicines they had on hand. "Here, try these," he said, slipping some pills into a clean bottle. "Take one every six hours or so. If you're still in pain when you're done with these, come back in, because you should be checked out again then."
