FTEC - Saturday Evening Shift [2/3]

The front tires of the Aston Martin hit Fandom with about half an hour to spare to Wilson's clinic shift.

Thus, he and Phale were a little out of breath as they came darting through the door, wearing cheerful smiles and Wilson had on one of the angel's shirt. Whoops!

Checking in with the nurse, Wilson settled his satchel behind the front desk and plopped into the chair. Tugging out a note pad, he grabbed a pen and clicked it on.

"Okay, so which wine was it again that will need to be aged for at least five years?"

Aziraphale hung up their coats and went to start the coffee pot for Wilson. "The merlot, wasn't it, love? We didn't get very much of that one, if I recall."

He pulled up his usual chair to the desk and sat down. "What do you think about giving a bottle of that very nice sauvignon to the Doctor?"

Making notes, Wilson nodded. "And maybe one to Aly as well? She might appreciate it for a special occasion."

"Yes, I think she may," Aziraphale agreed. "Valentine's Day is coming up, so it might be a timely sort of gift. Also...I seem to recall from the student files that Marie's birthday is coming up. Not that I think we ought to give her wine," he added quickly.

Wilson peeked up at his lover and grinned impishly.

"You not proposing to give the underaged alcohol?" He teased. "But I agree, we'll have to think of something and...we need to do Valentine's Day gifts for Marie, Aly... Abby, Phoebe, Lana... oh my, I'd better work on a list."

"I do try to abide by your sensibilities, James love," the angel replied primly, "even when I think they're silly."

His eyes twinkled, though, and he nodded at the mention of a gift list. "It's going to be a rather long one, I think. Do we gift only the girls?"

"Well, traditionally that is what's proper, though we could give cards to some of the fellows like maybe Blair?" Wilson suggested.

"Oh, you know I think I read somewhere about the flower shop on the island closing...err...well, being destroyed by trolls. I wonder where we could get flowers?"

"Perhaps we could bake them something," Aziraphale offered. "Biscuits or cakes or something."

He raised an eyebrow at the flower question. "I'm rather certain I could manage some flowers, love, if you want them."

"Well, flowers are traditional." Wilson pointed out, adding a note to the pad and then sitting back with a smile.

"I enjoyed the past couple of days, love. It was nice, just poking around old shops with you."

"Then we'll get some flowers as well."

Aziraphale sat back and returned the young doctor's smile. "So did I, love. We don't take those trips nearly often enough. Perhaps we can do another this spring?"

"I think we can work with that." Wilson said, smiling. "Though, I kinda like the idea of keeping it a fairly spontaneous act? Makes me feel, wild and boyish when I get to steal away with you for a few days."

With a bright smile and a chuckle, Aziraphale nodded. "I like that, James. I like when you get sudden ideas and we can just...do something that it would never occur to me to do. And I'm pleased that you like it too."

He leaned forward and brushed a quick kiss to Wilson's cheek. "Now...how are things going with planning for our field trip next month?"

Returning the kiss with a smooch of his lips towards Phale, Wilson groaned and ran his hand over his face.

"Honestly, I've talked to the hotel and the U.N. but I still have to pull things together. Everything has been so crazy recently, I've got to work on that and I've also got to work on getting that test written for Monday."

"I've got a test to give on Monday as well," Aziraphale said, nodding. "But I could ask Phoebe and Lana to help a bit with planning, if you like. You shouldn't feel you have to do it all on your own, James."
