Elliot did a quick round of the clinic to make sure the beds were empty and the paperwork was caught up on before starting to write up her lecture for Thursday's class.

She checked the course catalog to see exactly what she had promised students, and was dumbfounded to see that she had sent in her rough draft -- the one that included the words "goop" and "anyone else who likes to think about naked people."

If you need doctoring today, look for the blonde banging her head into the desk and muttering "Frick. Frick. Frick..."

Seeing that familiar spacey smile on mini-JD was a little creepy, but Elliot managed to shake it off.

"I cannot imagine you with a fishing rod," Elliot said. "Maybe squirrel-fishing, with peanuts. But I'm glad they let you come back."

JD nodded, his eyes going wide as he considered the possibilities of squirrel fishing with peanuts.

"Maybe that's the problem..." he said softly to himself, making a note to try peanuts next time.

"Problem?" Elliot asked. "Oh -- I'm psyched to see you in my anatomy class next term. This term. You know what I mean."

JD nodded. "All part of being A Doctor." JD struck his superhero pose. He really ought to break that compulsion.

"Speaking of being A Doctor," JD paused while he posed again, "I sort of had a favor to ask you."

The pose wouldn't help him insert an IV, anyhow.

"I don't have access to a morgue," Elliot said immediately, just in case there was a wacky prank being considered. "But other than that? What doctor-y favor do you need?"

Elliot looked flattered. Also relieved. "You're welcome to," she said immediately. "I will warn you it's usually pretty quiet during my shifts, so there's a lot of paperwork and stacking bandages unless we just had an invasion -- then it's completely crazy, in a small-scale way. You could check with Dr. Troy or some of the others if you want more than the one day?"

JD flailed on the inside, which manifested as a bit of a little bounce.

"Thanks Dr. Reid! That would be great! Can we start next week?" His enthusiasm is overwhelming.

Elliot grinned. "That is totally fine with me, but you should probably let Dr. Troy know because he's kind of my boss. Oh, hey, while you're being all minion-y, you aren't in the market for a TA gig, are you?"

JD puffed his chest up as big as he could, which, given he was still an awkward 15 year old, wasn't much.

"I would be delighted to assist."

Now Elliot bounced. "Okay, great, there's really not too much to it unless I get sick and you need to run the class, and then I would usually send notes to you but if I don't you can just make the class play Operation or something, and I'll bounce ideas off of you if I need to. Oh, and Willow would bring in treats for my rats last semester? But that was a bonus, not a requirement. So thank you so much!"

She got all of that out without pausing for breath.
