FTEC, Tuesday Night

Natalie arrived at the clinic, still feeling somewhat exposed and vulnerable after the events of the party. She was making a valiant effort to forget them, but she was discovering that vampires seemed to have at least one thing in common with elephants -- their memories. Though, if she admitted it, she had no one to blame but herself. Then again, could she have expected an angel at the party?

With a sigh, she checked on Walter, then settled in at the front desk with her Strifenova Celestial DVDs and an internet connection. She hoped Grace was having a slow night; she needed the company.

She may have been surfing the net and watching DVDs, but she was more than ready to see any patients.

Yeah, so she wasn't a patient, but she'd certainly been there long enough. "Dr. Lambert? I wanted to ask you something."

Nat looked up from her DVDs. "Ah, Nadia, isn't it? What can I help you with?"

Nadia smiled a little sheepishly. "I was wondering if I could take Walter out for a little while tonight. He hates the clinic, and it'd really help if he could see something else, even just for an hour."

"Well, being that it's Halloween, I think a little excursion might be in order." She smiled. "Just be sure to have him back before midnight. He turns into a pumpkin."

Nadia blinked. "Please tell me that's a joke. Because around here? I'm never sure."

Nat laughed. "Yes, it's a joke, Nadia." She pointed to her nametag. "Doctor -- not mad scientist."

Nadia grinned. "Well, you never know. Thank you Dr. Lambert."

Walter.

Walter was ready for a low key adventure. If he could get out past the doctor who'd caught him the last time he'd tried escaping the clinic.

Nadia had ~~in theory~~ even asked permission, and changed quickly into her costume for the evening. She pushed the wheelchair into the room, complete with an ugly plaid blanket. "Happy Halloween."

Walter stared. Oh yes, it was so good to be dating someone from a culture with fewer body taboos.

"It's a good thing I'm already in the clinic or that costume might have put me here," he said when he remembered that she might be waiting for a greeting of some sort. "You look... wow."

Nadia really, really didn't mind the staring. A fact which her grin plainly showed. "You're not looking half-bad yourself, considering. You ready to get out of here for a bit?"

"Forever would be brilliant, but I'll settle for tonight, since you'll be pushing the wheelchair." He raised the head of the bed all the way and slid his feet over the side. He was getting out. He'd mope about how difficult getting out of bed was some other time.

Nadia headed over immediately to offer him a shoulder to lean on while they got him into the chair, giving him a quick kiss. "Forever will happen soon enough."

Well, the upside to having Nadia help him out of bed was the opportunity to cop a feel along with a kiss. He had to appreciate the opportunity to do so.

"Alright, Nurse. I put myself in your hands."

If he kept that up, they might not make it out of the clinic. "Oh, the power. I'll try not to abuse it." Once she was sure he was settled, she started for the door. "So, trick or treating?"

Unfortunately, there was a limit to what he'd be able to do, so it was probably for the best that they continued their adventure outside the clinic.

"We can't miss an American tradition, can we? It's our first Halloween here."

"My thoughts exactly." Nadia started pushing the chair towards the door. "So, where to first?"

"Let's trick or treat The Fourth Sin (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/1181998.html?style=mine)," Walter said, tilting his head back to grin at her. "And tell me that someone somewhere is going to give me cigarettes."

Nadia shook her head. "I can't tell you that," she said, sotto voce. "We're not out of the clinic yet." That said, she hurried on.
