"Then thanks. Do you want to . . . sit with him for a little while? I could go talk to Alanna or Faithful or something." She didn't really want to leave, but at least she'd know he wouldn't be alone.

"You might want to try taking a nap in your own bed... Or take a shower. I'll call you if there's a change."

Nadia hesitated when she got to the door, turning to stare back at Walter for a moment. "He tries to talk, sometimes. If you can figure out what he's saying. . . ."

"I'll try." Pippi said pulling out the chair and putting it next to the bed facing the head. "Don't worry. I'll listen really careful, I promice."

Pippi spends the time Nadia is away making sure the cold packs keeping his temperature down are fresh, talking about the movie they watched in Prophesy Lab, generally admonishing him for trying to keep this whole thing a secret, and listening to him mumble incoherently.
