Trevor certainly couldn't say no when one of the shifts needed to be covered. It wasn't as though money grew on trees here. Not that that kind of discovery would shock him after everything else he'd seen in the past few months.

River was still here, but there was a smile on her face as she lay staring up at the ceiling. Simon was here. That would make things better. Not that she had missed the tests he had run on her, but he would come up with something.

In a way she wished he could stay. Not that this was the centre of the world, but the clinic here would at least offer more variety than Serenity.
