Christian found himself strangely anxious this morning as he opened the clinic~~, almost as if his show was premiering that night~~. He shrugged it off, checked on his patient, and settled in at the front desk to surf the web for anything interesting.

Yep. Still comatose. Woe.

Maybe someone just needs to poke him. ~~not dirty~~

Nadia didn't have a class until late afternoon, so she came in in the morning to stare at her comatose roommate for awhile.

Moral was now sitting, unwound, on the bedside table.

Jamie let off a small moan and his hand twitched a little bit before his eyes fluttered open and looked around the room in an unfocused way.

"Santos?"

Nadia startled at the movement and then quickly got out of her chair. "Jamie. Yeah, it's me."

"What happened?" Jamie asked weakly. "Did you mallet me or something?"

"Yeah, sure, blame me. Marie got her mutant powers. The other you said something about her absorbing your life force. You've been out since Saturday night. It's Tuesday."

Jamie blinked at that for a second or two before some of the memories of Saturday came back to him.

"Marie's a... Oh man." Jamie tried to sit up but quickly landed back down on the pillow. "Is she okay? And this other me isn't evil is he?"

"Freaked, last I heard. We spent all of Saturday night and Sunday looking for her. Found three of her." Nadia shoved her hands in her pockets. "And as far as I can tell, he's not evil. He says he was up at that other school since the beginning of the summer. They probably would have done something if he was."

"Other school?" Jamie asked looking confused for a second before something clicked in his head. "Oh. Him. Yeah he shouldn't be evil."

He tried to get up again but ended up back on the bed. "Other than being freaked, Marie's okay, right?"

"Yeah, I guess so. She's . . . not really letting people near her. But from what I've heard, that's understandable." She shot him a look. "You've been unconscious for three days. Stop trying to get up."

"Why? So you can take advantage and draw all over my face again?" Jamie said as he was finally able to sit up on his own. "Plus I'm hungry. And thirsty."

Yes, he's being whiny.

"So I'll get you some food and water. Just please lie down, okay? Knowing you, you're going to get out of here and put on that stupid suit again and go stay in that abandoned house and mope and end up right back here all over again. And you've definitely won for how much time you've spent here."

"Really? What did I win?" Jamie asked as he lay back down on the bed. "And I wasn't moping!"

"The honor of people pestering you about staying healthy and thinking you'll end up in the clinic all the time. Congratulations. And you totally were."

"Was not. And how do I pass on this pestering thing? I'm sure some other student deserves this prize more than me."

"Were, too. And if I knew, I'd have done it already. I proudly pass the crown on to you."

"Was not," Jamie said weakly. "And if there's a crown involved then I abdicate the thrown of Clinic royalty back to you."

"Were, too. And there's no crown. Just pestering. And you can't do that unless I end up in the clinic for longer than you."

"Well then I only need to wait another week or so right?" Jamie snarked. "The school should be due for another invasion any day now."

"Personally, I'm kind of hoping we've had enough mini-crises in the last few days to avoid that for a little while."

~~"What? Are you kidding? It's the beginning of sweeps!"~~

"God, I hope so," Jamie said resting his eyes briefly. "I know I could use a break."

"I'm thinking everyone could."
