It hadn't taken long for Tommy to shake the nurse down - not literally - to find out who had put his truck on the roof.

Getting the truck off the roof was another matter entirely.

Tommy kept making phone calls, all the while plotting his revenge.

Abby motioned over to the corner. "I've got to make a quick phone call, Seely. Don't go anwywhere."

"Let's see, I'm in this place I've never seen before, I'm dressed like some kind of squint, and something bit me," Seely replied. "Other than that I'm just great, thanks for asking."

Abby walked back up to speak to Tommy after realizing she didn't really know who to call about this. "He did get bitten and now he doesn't seem to know who he is."

"I know who I am!" Seely protested. "I just don't know where I am."

"What drugs is he taking?" Tommy asked.

"I don't know. His name is Zack Addy and he got bitten by a small green radio carrying animal." Abby said. "I've never known Zack to display multiple personalities or any drug related behavior."

Clearly Tommy was unaware he was talking to a teacher.

"In between arts and crafts and computer class of us teachers pass out joints and lsd-laced stickers." Abby rolled her eyes and pointed at Zack's hand. "Maybe you should look at the hand?"

"'Maybe you should look at the hand'," Tommy mimicked in a higher-pitched tone. "Good thing you were here. I might not know how to do my own damn job otherwise."

"And who let you out of yours, sunshine?" Tommy asked. He indicated the direction of exam one. "Christ. The bozone layer in this town is non-existant, lemme tell ya."

"Hey," Seely held his unbitten hand up, as he headed towards exam one. "Just because I'm dressed like a squint doesn't mean I am one."

"Yeah, and just 'cause I'm filling in for doctors doesn't mean I give a shit," Tommy replied.

"Tell me, they teach you that charming beside manner at squintschool?"

"Oh yeah," Tommy said. "I earned very high marks from FU University. Honors program, even."

"My mother's dead and my father hasn't seen sobriety or his testicles since the fifties," Tommy replied. "So can't really say as I've asked them."

"Yep," Tommy said, folding his arms. "Sucks to be you, huh?"

"See, there's a world reowned sympathy of the medical profession," Seely deadpanned.

"Firefighter," Tommy said, pointing at himself. "Technically I don't have to do squat until somebody throws a match at you."

"Yes, I'll bet you don't get paid if you let patients bleed out all over your nice, shiny, clinic floor."

"I'm in charge, I get paid regardless," Tommy said. "Plus I've got minions to clean the mess up. On the other hand if you'd like to quit yapping and sit your ass down in Exam 1 I suppose I could put a bandage on you."

"Oh fer Christ's sake - sit," Tommy told him.

"I'm sitting, I'm sitting," Seely said, then actually sat.

"Thank Christ, now I can stop waiting for the Vatican to declare it a miracle," Tommy said. He snapped on some gloves and got to work cleaning the wound.

"Why? You looking for canonisation or something?"

"Peace and quiet, but I'll take what I can get," Tommy said. Appropriately enough, he squinted at the wound. "What faggoty dog did you piss off, anyway?"

"Not a dog," Seely said. "Unless the dogs around these parts are green and two legged."

"Actually around here I wouldn't rule that out so quickly," Tommy said.

"Your science experiment escape?"

"Yes, but the less said about Colleen the better," Tommy replied.

"You named a green, scaly thing Colleen?" Seely raised one eyebrow. "Lemme guess, ex-girlfriend."

"Daughter, asshole," Tommy told him. "And one more smart word out of you and you'll be bleeding from new places."

Seely could have said something, but he did possess some sense of self-preservation, so he kept his mouth shut.

"Good choice," Tommy told him. He finished cleaning and bandaging 'Seely's' hand. "Okay. Keep it clean, try to control the urge to play with broken glass, blah blah blah..."
