FTEC, Sunday Morning

Janet was there. Totally unable to talk, and yes, somewhat cranky about it, but there. She had a lot of paper and a bunch of pens for notes. With any luck, no one would come in unconscious and unable to describe their own symptoms, because if so, she was going to be really thinking it was fun as a player mad at whatever was causing this

Lots of pen. Lots of paper. Someone had thoughtfully provided a whiteboard.

And Alanna's note was really funny.

Pippi wandered into the Clinic on her way to brunch.

She held up a sign for Janet. (See icon.)

Janet waved at Pippi and grinned wryly.

She'd made a sign already, in case anyone came in:

Pippi nodded yes, she was fine. She pulled out her minicomp and tapped on it.

Janet gave Pippi a relieved look, and grabbed another piece of paper.

Just Jamie Madrox. Maybe check with his roommate? A change of clothes would be nice so we don't send him home in scrubs.

Janet held up a finger to indicate that Pippi should wait just a minute, then pulled out her laptop and booted it up. A large font and a word processing program meant that she could waste a lot less paper. Janet started typing.

He's got internal injuries, but they caught them in time. We're pumping blood into him. He's asleep.

Nadia came in at a run shortly after she got Pippi's text message. She was carrying a backpack with a change of clothes for Jamie as well as a few other things she thought he might like, and looking rather worried.

She was also sporting faint bruises under both eyes and a visibly swollen nose, but she didn't seem to be letting that stop her.

Janet waved at Nadia and started typing on her laptop.

He'll be okay; they got him to the clinic in time. Are YOU okay? I can give you an ice pack and some ibuprofin.

Nadia dismissed her own injuries with a wave of her hand and held up one finger, then two fingers, then three fingers with a questioning lift of her eyebrows to try to ask which room Jamie was in.

Janet set out an ice pack and some ibuprofin anyway. She was pushy like that.

Exam room two. He's asleep, so you can look in on him, but please don't wake him up.

Nadia nodded and mouthed 'thank you', then headed to the exam room without picking up the ice pack or ibuprofin. Because she was stubborn, like that.

Jamie's here stitched up, drugged up and most likely unconscious.

At some point in time, Janet goes in to check Jamie's vitals. But if he's unconscious, she tries not to wake him.

Jamie woke up and saw Janet and then realized where he was. He picked up the notepad beside his bed and wrote:

"You know I never did get the test results back from my drug test."

Janet grinned at him. Sarcasm was always the first sign of a good recovery. She grabbed her notepad and started scribbling.

You're clean. A total weirdo, but clean of all drugs. How are you feeling?

Nadia stepped into the room and put her backpack down on a chair before opening it up and pulling out Jamie's sock puppet, a random glass bottle, and a bar of chocolate. She set the puppet up on the glass bottle so it could be upright, then used gaffers tape to fasten the chocolate bar into its mouth. She put it in a spot where Jamie would be likely to see it when he woke up and propped a card in front of it.

Okay, so it was an old happy birthday card with the message crossed out and "git will suun" written in very, very sloppy handwriting, but it was the thought that counted.

That done, Nadia sat down to keep an eye out for awhile.

Jamie woke up to the sight of a dyslexic puppet eating a candy bar.

He blinked a couple of times and wondered exactly how much pain medication he was getting in that IV.

Rolling over he saw his roommate and he gave her a drugged grin. He picked up a pen and a notepad beside him and wrote on it:

"Looks like I'm not the only one who got beat up last night?"

Nadia shood her head and smiled back at him, pulling out her own piece of paper. Seras attacked, too. School has curfew out. You okay?

I had some elective surgery done by guys in desperate need of teeth whitening and Rogaine

Jamie then gestured to his nose and then pointed at Nadia.

Looks like you had a run-in too. What about Marie? Is she okay?
