FTEC, Wednesday, Day Shift

Janet was taking over for Tommy today. Hopefully, the clinic would be calm, because she had a few books she was hoping to get through while she was here. Or maybe she'd get lucky and people would visit who didn't really have clinic business.

OOC: In other words, open for interaction and for all your clinic needs. As there are no patients, I'm not going to worry about OCDness.

ETA: If I suddenly vanish, it's because work went momentarily busy, and I'll be back shortly.

Jamie walked in carrying a full urine specimen container.

"Hi. I'd like to be drug tested please," Jamie said putting the container on the counter.

"Great," said Janet, showing no reaction to a urine specimen container being suddenly placed on her desk. "Did you realize that to have a drug test, I need you to give the urine specimen here, and that steps are taken to ensure that there are no outside contaminants involved?"

OOC: If this is plotty so that you can test someone else for drugs, we can certainly work something out. :) Drop me an e-mail at work and let me know what you're looking to do. Or we can just have wacky fun here. I'm never averse to wacky fun.

"Oh," Jamie said. "Do you want me to outside and use the bushes?"

Granted this wasn't the fourth sin, but maybe there was a town ordinance in Fandom.

Janet frowned. "Ew, no," she said. "We try to be slightly more sanitary than that." She opened the desk drawer and pulled a couple of surgical gloves out of a box, then picked up the specimen container. "We need you to step into exam room one and we'll collect the sample in there. And yes, you can give the sample in private." Janet tried not to sound too grateful at that.

OOC: Oh, whew, I didn't want to screw up anything plot-related! Yay, wacky fun!

Due to Janet's own urging and then Cam's today, Bel stopped by the clinic to see if anyone there could figure out why he was stuck in demon form. He was glad to see Janet there, so he didn't have to deal with a stranger poking and proding at him. "Hey, Janet," he said.

"Hey, Bel," said Janet, grinning at him. "Still stuck?"

"Yeah," he said glumly. "I keep concentrating on trying to turn back and nothing's working."

Janet nodded. "That's got to be frustrating. Did you want me to run a few dozen tests? I can check out your records to see what kind of a baseline we're starting from for your physiology."

OOC: Would you mind dropping me a voice mail about what Janet would find? If it's all normal when compared to any charts he has, or what? The VM is screened, so no one will see anything.

"Yeah," Bel said. "I'm willing to try anything at this point. I put a couple holes in the wall last night trying to deal with this."

"Is your skin more resistant to damage in this form? I'd like to take a blood draw, and I just need to know if I should grab a sturdier needle," Janet said to Bel as they walked into the exam room.

"Yeah, I'm tougher," he confirmed. "You'll want something good and strong or it will just snap off."

"That's certainly doable." Janet filed that piece of information away mentally and noted it on Bel's chart in case he was there, unconscious, and in demon form. She smiled reassuringly. "Let me check your pulse and blood pressure first. We'll start with the easy stuff."

"Just, uh, dispose of the blood when you're done testing it," Bel said as casually as he could, offering his arm to Janet so she could check his blood pressure.

"That's right, I seem to remember you mentioning something similar at the blood drive," said Janet, grabbing a black cuff and wrapping it around Bel's upper arm. She pulled a stethoscope out of the pocket of her jeans, slipped it under the cuff, and proceeded to take Bel's blood pressure. "Do you want me to just note that in your chart in case it ever comes up again?" she asked.

Elizabeth had coffee, and a brown paper bag as she carefully pushed open the door to the clinic. "Hey."

"Not too bad," Elizabeth said, smiling warmly back. "We need groceries and I figured that if I was going to be in town, I'd come and bring you lunch. How's your morning been?"

"I've come to the conclusion that Jamie Madrox is one of the odder students around here," said Janet. "Other than that, it's been pretty quiet." She didn't mention Bel because patient visits were confidential, after all. Even if the radio reported them anyway. "Thanks for lunch. I didn't think to grab anything on the way here, and I didn't particularly feel like calling for Chinese or pizza."
