FTEC, Friday Evening

Natalie arrived for her shift, somewhat glad to return to the familiar environs of the clinic. She'd been called away for a quick consult on an investigation -- a second opinion on a dead body, as it were -- and found herself embroiled in Community politics. As if it was her fault the local golden boy was a messy eater?

She sighed as she settled in at the front desk. Even a quiet shift at the clinic was preferable to dealing with ambitious, arrogant, and power-hungry vampires.

[Note: Mun has been hoodwinked into volunteering at a local fundraiser. Will be back later tonight, maybe 10-ish Eastern. If you desperately need attention, feel free to use the NPC nurse. If you need interactive medical attention, drop me a line and I'll pop on as soon as I can. Back!]

Nat enjoys the relative quiet while tapping away at her laptop. In the background, an old mystery movie can be heard on the big screen television. ~~She may or may not be rooting around for good fan fic.~~

Maia had been sleeping for a little while, she woke up and opened her eyes up again. Her head still felt really big and a tad lopsided.

After seeing Lana, Phoebe stopped in to check on Maia

Lana was dozing off and on, resting after her earlier visitors. every now and again she'd wake up and just lie there quietly trying to remember what happened.

Phoebe poked her head into the exam room.

"Lana?" she asked quietly.

"Phoebe!" Lana started to sit up then dropped back down to the pillow abruptly as a wave of nausea overtook her. "Ugh... guess I shouldn't have done that. How are you? And... what happened? I can't remember anything!"

Phoebe pulled a chair up to the bed. "You have a concussion," she explained. "John was trying to throw you to his version of safety and you hit the door instead."

"I figured the concussion part," Lana said. "I've had enough of them. But... John? Wait... there was... screaming?" She was trying very hard to make sense of the tiny fragments filtering through into her brain.

"Hey." she said with a smile. "How are you?" she said worry in her voice.

"He had a nightmare. Thought Cole was a monster."

"Worried about you guys... and Cole and I have detention tomorrow."

Maia's eyes went wide as she sat up, remembering the pain from earlier she did this slowly. "Why? You and Bel were...John did it...You guys were victims..." Maia said looking angry. "You guys didn't do anything wrong."

"And it was dark..." Lana bit her lip. "I remember the screaming and being in the hallway in the dark with you and... Maia? And... I think that's it. Knowing Cole was up ahead and wanting to help him..."

"I used violence on another student and knocked him out," she explained. "John has detention, too."

"They were between us and the lights," she nodded.

"And John threw me into a door trying to... save me?" Lana made a little face. "Well, it certainly feels like I hit a door with my head. What was wrong with John though, that he'd do something like that?"

"But...but you were saving us...you and Bel...that isn't fair..." Maia breathed. "Can, can I tell someone, that you guys were trying to stop John?"

Phoebe shook her head. "I laready told Principal Washburn what happened," she said softly. "I'm okay with detention because at least it's Artie running it."

Phoebe shook her head. "He was trapped in his nightmare... he didn't see us at first. Then he saw us girls and wanted to protect us from Cole who he thought was a killer robot."

Maia frowned heavily, the thought of Phoebe and Bel having to sit all day in detention, even if it was with Artie was harsh.

"Oh my God, Cole! Is he okay?"

"We'll be okay, I promise," Phoebe said as she hugged her gently. "And we'd do the same thing again."

Phoebe nodded, and then sighed. "Yeah... physically he's fine and he says everything is okay."
