FTEC, Wednesday day

Tommy did a quick check on all the patients - that Tyler kid still wasn't looking good, but comparatively speaking he was starting to look better - and then settled down at his desk to do the very important job of reading the sports section.

"I hear that." Blair nodded and reached out to pat her arm or hand or something and then decided against it. He wasn't quite sure what didn't hurt at the moment.

"I brought you books!" He bounced happily. "Some on ancient treasure and archaeology and one all about the trees of North America. Sorry, I was sort of limited in my choices."

That gets her to smile again.

"Oh thank you so much. I love archaeology and trees... and treasure is always good."

Mostly.

As long as it's not cursed.

"Awesome, man! I never knew you liked trees." Blair bounced and grinned. "Most of this treasure hasn't been found yet. I looked over the book last night and I think a lot of it is just legend. Do you really think that there's a box full of gold encrusted toothbrushes buried in the Caribbean?"

"Not any more there's not." she said with a small tired but sly smile.

"Cool." Blair grinned at her. "Well, I'll let you get back to sleeping or not sleeping or whatever. I should drop off the books I got for Walter."

"Do you think he will appreciate a book on moose mating calls?"

"Do I have any choice besides sleeping or not sleeping?" She asked.

"...How about not not-sleeping?"

"What does the doctor say about you sleeping or not sleeping?"

"He hasn't said anything. I think as long as I don't set Dr. Tommy's sports section on fire he's good with pretty much whatever."

Blair glared over his shoulder, Tommy was not his favorite person. "Well that's...nice. But I really think you should rest up so that you can get out of here faster."

Hmmm, well... If they had been faster, the whole escape attempt last night could have gone off without a hitch.

"Yes. I think you have a point." she said, "Just don't hit me with a chair. I don't think it'll work out so well... And yes. I'm sure Walter would love a book on Moose Mating Calls. Creature languages and all that, never know when such things would prove useful."

"No chair hitting from me." Blair raised his hand. "Scout's honor."

"Glad to hear it," she said, "I know how strongly you feel about homeopathic remedies."

"I'm not sure that homeopathic remedies involve chairs."

"That was kinda a joke."

Blair grinned. "It was kinda funny."

"Just a little bit."

Blair smiled. "If you need anything, be sure to call me, okay?"

"Make sure Nadia is resting? She's been shuffling around and it hurts just to look at her... I mean... Not that I... You know what I mean."

"I'll stop by her room and check on her for you, okay?"

"Kay."

"See ya later, Pippi." Blair patted the edge of the mattress gently and waved before leaving.
