While she was in a bit better mood, there was still a stormcloud looming over Natalie's head. She'd had her movie night, and this time she simply opted for the laptop, a fan fiction website with a huge archive, and a Bonnie Raitt CD. She's just not ready to go back into the lab...and might not be for a while.

Greg and Zack, bearing Tyler (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/574389.html?thread=31392693#t31392693) between them, came into the clinic. All three boys? Shirtless.

"Hey!" Greg called. "Um, he's hurt."

Natalie looked up, immediately alarmed. Her stethoscope went immediately around her neck, and she grabbed a pair of gloves from the box on the front desk. "Exam 2," she said, pointing in the appropriate direction.

"It was a chemical explosion," Zack supplied as they carried Tyler into the exam. "Fuel, plastic and some kind of powder."

Natalie entered the room, switching on the lights and immediately pulling over her treatment cart.

Jack moaned slightly from his place on the exam table, but otherwise seemed unresponsive.

"I think there's glass, too," Greg said, wincing down at Tyler. "He was working with what smelled like latex, and I know there was battery acid."

Natalie's eyes were already tracing the damage, her senses taking in the scent of the toxins. The latex was apparent, as was the battery acid; the second-degree burns were not very pleasant, either.

"What was he doing?" she asked as she began to work on neutralizing the acid and cleaning the wounds.

"Wouldn't elaborate beyond just wanting to make an explosion," Greg said. "He seemed to know what he was doing and he was wearing those, at least." He pointed at Tyler's eyewear.

"If I had to guess I'd say he was figuring out a new and improved way to commit suicide," Zack added.

As Jack writhed in pain, he tossed his head to the side. Natalie might notice a scar that looked like it might have come from a gunshot to his jawline and cheek.

Noting the scar along his jawline and cheek, Natalie traced it briefly with her gloved hand. "Looks like he's been in over his head before," she murmured. She made a mental note to add the scar to his record. To his keepers, she asked, "Does he have a name?"

"Tyler," Greg supplied. "Don't know about a last name, but he's new like us."

Natalie nodded. "I'll contact the school first thing in the morning," she replied. She kept an ear out for his pulse and respiration. They were steady for now, but she would definitely need to hook up the monitors. That, however, would require the wounds to be cleaned and bandaged.

Turning to Greg and Zack, she forced a smile. "If you boys will wait outside, I want to have a few words with you before you go."

"Yes, ma'am," Greg said, obediantly heading to the lobby.

Zack meeped quietly as he followed Greg.

Waiting until the two young men were out of the room, Natalie resumed cleaning the wounds. She wasn't prepared for the amount of damage the explosion had done, but did eventually get the wounds cleaned, stitched, and his condition stabilized.

As she stepped out into the corridor, she was not happy about his lack of consciousness, nor about the reactions of his irises. It would seem she had quite a bit to note on his chart.
