After a long afternoon filled with nightmares, Natalie was more than glad to be at work, to have a distraction from the disjointed images she kept trying to piece together. In her tired state, she knew working in the lab was out of the question -- it took too much effort already to concentrate on a coherent sentence, much less a series of tests with a perishable sample. Instead, she settled in with her notes and hoped she wouldn't botch them beyond recognition.

To say that she's a little cranky is an understatement.
