April 1. Man, if Tommy didn't miss having probies before, he sure as hell missed them now.

He wondered how many patients would show up that he could screw with.

For instance, with the right amount of eye contact and sincerity you could make anybody believe a positive pregnancy test.

Even the guys.

Hmmm.

[ooc: Tommy shall be busy with plotty things late into the night, so patients only s'il vous plait. Or other FTEC staff, just be aware Tommy's only going to grunt at you and ignore you.]

Tommy's at his desk, reading a paper. Try bleeding on him if you need medical care.

The suck thing about living upstairs from the Clinic is that if any asshole walked in late, you were the only one around.

Not that this might be related to anything, of course.

A very concerned Veronica pounded on the clinic door, followed by Angel carrying Lilly.

"Christ on a fucking Triscuit I'm coming already," Tommy said, going downstairs. "Keep your shirt on."

He opened the door and saw Veronica. "Or not."

"What the fuck is it with the doctors here?" Veronica sighed, wishing she had thought to grab her taser.

"My friend is in need of medical treatment," she said, gesturing to Lilly's bloody, unconscious form in Angel's arms.

"What the Hell happened?" Tommy asked.

"Gunshots," Angel said, pushing past Tommy. He went to put Lilly on one of the empty clinic beds. "She's not waking up."

Tommy snapped on some gloves and started to check Lilly. "Okay, girls on the rag and bitchy metrosexuals take one step back. Some of us need to work here."

Angel glared. "I'm not bitchy."

"Fine," Tommy said. "Anybody who can tell me, off the top of his or her head, at least five different products in a haircare line get the hell out of my way. Hokay?"

Angel settled for glaring some more.

"Whatever," Tommy sighed. He resumed his exam of Lilly.

He sobered up - no pun intended, when he checked her vital signs.

"Guys," Tommy said, all signs of kidding gone. "She's dead."

Angel nodded. "Right."

Okay, clearly Captain Forehead was a little on the special side. This came as no surprise to Tommy whatsoever.

"I wish I could help," Tommy said, "but I'm not a miracle worker."

It's possible Tommy randomly glared at what to Angel and Veronica would seem like nothing at all. Or maybe he was just tired and a little twitchy.

"Seriously. I'm real sorry but there's nothing I can do."

"What do you mean you can't do anything?" Veronica demanded. "She shouldn't be unconscious still."

"Sweetheart," Tommy said, now speaking as gently as if he was adressing one of his own daughters. "Your friend is dead."

"First of all, you might want to ask your buddy Dr. Troy what happens to guys who call me Sweetheart," Veronica said.

"Secondly, I am well aware of the fact that she is dead, but what I need to know is why is she unconscious?" Her voice may have taken on a slightly hysterical edge.

Tommy blinked at her. "Because she's dead?"

Angel finally clued in to the problem.

"She's undead. Like me. Well not exactly like me. She's not a vampire."

"You couldn't tell me this five minutes ago?" Tommy demanded, gesturing down at Lilly's body. "Leave me standing here like an asshole trying to explain why she doesn't have a pulse?"

"I think you'd have been standing there like an asshole regardless," Angel replied, sweetly.

"I'm rather inclined to agree," Veronica said. "Now, can you please fix her? She took four bullets that were meant for me."

Belatedly reminded, Angel started poking at his chest where he'd been shot as well. With enough prodding, he could pull the bullets out. Ideally before his skin healed over.

"I am sure there's a good reason I quit drinking," Tommy muttered to himself. He pulled a light over to examine the bullet holes. "Does she, uh, need painkillers? Do fake live people take those?"

"I don't think she needs painkillers," Veronica said. "But maybe some fluids? She never really explained to me how the dead thing works, but I know she's been shot before and been fine."

Veronica looked at Lilly. "Oh, and the head wound is what actually killed her, so that probably just needs cleaned up."

Tommy got an IV ready to help with the fluid problem. He looked at Angel. "These things work for you people?"

"I don't - " frown. Fiddle. Wince. There! One bullet. " - know. She's not a vampire."

Tommy rolled his eyes. "Yeah, well all you dead people look alike to me."

He hooked Lilly up with the IV. Hell, she was already dead. What was the worst it could do?

Next up: wound cleaning.

Veronica bit her lip as she watched Tommy work.

"You're going to take care of her, right?"

"Do m'best, kid," Tommy replied. The head wound now clean, Tommy applied a bandage to it.

Veronica looked at Angel. "You ready to go?"

With a wince Angel pulled the last of the bullets out. "Yeah. I'm ready."

Tommy resumed taking care of Lilly. Once all the bullets were out and her wounds were cared for, he covered her with a blanket and let her get some sleep.

At least he assumed it was sleep. Hell if he knew.

Because you can't spell OCD threads without O and C. Just assume the second O is due to a stutter.
